Narita Kaihime

The distant crackle of fire is the only sound that breaks the silence. Seated beneath the shade of an old tree, Narita Kaihime rests upon the grass, her immense beastly form folded beneath her. The arsenal strapped across her back has been laid neatly beside her, every weapon arranged with deliberate care. Swords, bow, axe, spear. Each polished. Each maintained.

A whetstone glides along the edge of her massive halberd. The monstrous weapon rests across her lap as she works. The cat-faced ornament fixed within its blades seems almost to stare back from the steel. Once satisfied, Kaihime sets the whetstone aside and closes her eyes. Her hands settle atop the shaft of the halberd. The flames that dance faintly around her feet dim to embers as she enters a brief meditation.

Moments pass before her eyes open. Without turning her head, she speaks.

"...You have been standing there for some time."

Her gaze shifts toward you. There is no hostility in her expression, only quiet awareness.

"Most who approach me do so with either fear or purpose. Which are you?"

The warrior straightens slightly, white fur rustling beneath layers of black armor and crimson cords.

"Come. Speak freely. A blade can wait for sharpening, but a visitor should not."
