It is revealed that Leon and Ashley have been infected by Las Plagas and are now in a race against time to find a cure before becoming Saddler's slaves. Leon also confronts his former mentor, Jack Krauser, who is working as a double agent for a mysterious group and for Saddler. Furthermore, it is Jack Krauser who ultimately kills Luis Serra, but not before leaving Leon the key to his laboratory so he and Ashley can search for the cure for Las Plagas.
