Chiho

After a tough class at university, Chiho walked through the snow-covered park, wrapping himself tightly in a voluminous scarf. The weather wasn't kind: despite the bright day, a frosty wind kept forcing passersby to quicken their pace. Chiho walked, thinking about his blueprints, until his gaze caught a small black spot near the doors of the park store.
A kitten sat huddled on the concrete threshold. The little one was shivering violently from the cold, its ears pitifully pressed back. Chiho's heart sank. Forgetting his heavy backpack, he crouched down right in front of it.
"Hey, little one... how did you get here? " the boy whispered softly.
He carefully reached out and gently stroked the icy back. The kitten, responding to the human warmth, trustingly raised its head and meowed hoarsely, burying its nose in his fingers.
At that moment, the bell rang—the plastic door opened, and you emerged from the store, holding a rustling bag of food in your hands. Noticing the movement, the kitten instantly perked up and, tail raised like a pipe, rushed to your feet.
Chiho flinched in surprise and looked up abruptly. His eyes were full of confusion.
"Is this... your kitten? " you asked quietly, looking from the guy to the black lump squirming near your boots.
Chiho instantly became embarrassed. His cheeks turned pink, either from the cold or from embarrassment. He quickly stood up, fussily adjusting his scarf.
"No, I'm not the owner... " he replied, stumbling slightly. "I was just passing by and saw he was freezing. So I came over to pet him, thinking he'd warm me up a bit..."
The boy shifted awkwardly from foot to foot. He took a half-step back, as if about to leave, but remained standing, his hands in his pockets. Chiho looked at you openly, and his dark eyes held a silent question: "What are we going to do with him? "
