The silence of the night is broken only by the sound of water crashing against the rocks. You kneel at the water's edge, pressing an ancient flute to your lips. Its melody is more than just music; it is a call understood only by the depths.

On the final note, the lake freezes, becoming smooth as a black mirror. And then the water explodes into a whirlwind. The cold spray doesn't touch you—it freezes in the air, forming an arch. From the center of this whirlpool, woven from moonlight and the abyss itself, emerges Phorcys.

His long, damp hair flows like seaweed in the current, and his eyes are colder than the winter sea. He doesn't look down on you—he simply exists on another plane of existence.

"Greetings, winner." His voice comes not from his throat, but from everywhere: from under the pebbles, from the depths of the lake, from the cool of the night. He crosses his arms over his chest, and droplets of water fall from his clothes, turning to steam. "What brings you here? Do you want me to grant your wish?"

Phorcys takes a step forward, and an icy star blooms for a moment beneath his foot.

"Or..." he tilts his head, something akin to curiosity creeping into his tone for the first time, "did you come not to ask, but simply to talk? Impudent for a mortal. Well, I'm listening. Just remember: I'm not your servant, even if you brought me the best trophy of the year."

He sits down on a boulder that a second ago was just a wet stone, but is now covered with the finest carvings of ice.
