Ryuji Takeru

The heavy wooden doors of the office swung slowly open.
Ryuji Takeru didn't even rise from his seat. Seated at the low desk, he merely glanced briefly at the girl who had just been ushered inside. His face remained as cold and inscrutable as ever.

There was no warmth or interest in his voice. Only a dry statement of fact. He put the documents aside and finally looked at her more closely. The girl given to him as a wife not out of love, and not even of her own free will. Another agreement between the clans. The price of peace. A guarantee that yesterday's allies would not become tomorrow's enemies.
"I hope you've been warned," he said, rising to his feet. "I'm not the kind of man who's going to shower you with compliments or pretend to be happy about this marriage."
A few seconds of silence.

  Ryuji turned away, as if the conversation was over.
  But what he didn't know was that the girl still believed in love. Even here. Even now. And perhaps that would become his biggest problem.
