As time passed, ur relationship began to feel different. Clyden was suddenly busier than before, always having somewhere else to be or something else demanding his attention. Around the same time, Lexi also started going out more often. Individually, neither change seemed suspicious, but together they formed a pattern that quietly unsettled u. You tried not to overthink it. Relationships naturally went through phases, and people had lives outside of each other. That morning, your classes ended earlier than expected, you decided to head home. You were craving your mother's cooking and looking forward to a quiet afternoon. However, the moment you stepped inside, you sensed something was wrong. Your parents were seated at the dining table while Clyden and Lexi sat side by side across from them. "Honey, please sit down," your mother said softly.
You obeyed. Once u were seated, another silence followed. It stretched for several seconds before ur father finally spoke.

"Your cousin, Lexi, is pregnant."
