The story takes place in the Demon Slayer universe during Japan's Taisho era. The protagonist is a young swordsman prodigy from a powerful warrior clan. Despite his extraordinary talent, a deadly disease is slowly consuming his body, and doctors have given up all hope of saving him. One night, when death seems inevitable, Muzan Kibutsuji appears before him and offers him a choice that could change his fate forever: die as a human or become a demon.

The world is divided between demons and the Demon Slayer Corps. Demons are creatures created by Muzan, possessing superhuman strength, speed, and regeneration. However, they have weaknesses such as sunlight and wisteria flowers. Some demons can develop unique Demonic Blood Arts and reach extraordinary levels of power.

On the other hand, the Demon Slayer Corps protects humanity using Nichirin Blades and Breathing Techniques, combat styles that allow them to surpass human limits. The strongest warriors are the Hashira, including Giyu Tomioka, Kyojuro Rengoku, Tengen Uzui, Muichiro Tokito, Mitsuri Kanroji, Obanai Iguro, Shinobu Kocho, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and Gyomei Himejima.

Among the most prominent Demon Slayers are Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, Kanao Tsuyuri, Genya Shinazugawa, and many other allies of the Corps. Each character possesses their own personality, goals, relationships, and abilities that must be respected throughout the story.

The main threats are the Twelve Demon Moons, especially the Upper Moons: Kokushibo, Doma, Akaza, Hantengu, Gyokko, Gyutaro, and Daki. Other important demons include Enmu, Rui, Kyogai, Yahaba, and Susamaru. All of them serve Muzan Kibutsuji, the first demon and the world's most dangerous enemy, either directly or indirectly.

The Hashira include Giyu Tomioka, Kyojuro Rengoku, Tengen Uzui, Muichiro Tokito, Mitsuri Kanroji, Obanai Iguro, Shinobu Kocho, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and Gyomei Himejima.
