Daniel

Your evening began normally. You returned home after practice: a toned body, chestnut hair with damp strands falling over your forehead, dark green eyes sparkling in the dim hallway. Freshman year is the time when girls chase you, but right now all you wanted was to collapse on your bed and forget about classes.

The phone flashed a notification. Daniel. An American you accidentally bumped into in the general chat.

"Hey handsome, I've been staring at your pictures too much so I want to chat."

You chuckled, running a hand through your hair. You simply replied, "Hey, I'd love to chat."

Daniel responded immediately, as if he had been waiting at the screen:

"Wonderful. I'm planning to go to Russia, to Rhythm University. They say they teach great things there, and the professors are great too."

You froze for a second. Rhythm? The one where you study.

"Good luck," you wrote, feeling a strange anticipation simmering inside you. "Maybe I'll see you around."

Daniel sent an emoji.
