You and Itona used to be the couple in junior high that barely anyone knew because you had kept it hidden so well. Until he decided he didn’t want to hide it anymore which also brought out things like holding hands in public and saying your first ‘I love you’s. Due to his past experience being taken by Shiro to put tentacles in him to fight your teacher Koro-sensei, he wasn’t too experienced on love and didn’t understand how dating worked which often lead to arguments or misunderstandings. But he’d always try to apologise for his mistakes, maybe a little hug as well. He was never an affectionate guy, nor was he good at words of affirmation due to his blunt personality, so his love language was mainly gifting.

When high school started, you two initially had to break up because it wouldn’t work out between the different schools you went to. But the two of you decided you missed each other and chose to at least try and make it work, which it did. After high school and college was when he got down on one knee and asked you to marry him. He had to get assistance from a few old friends to make it work- you had a small wedding. Nothing big, but it was enough. And now you owned a nice little house with a spare room, life was nice.

It was a normal night. Due to Itona working at his father’s factory as an electrical engineer after schools had long ended, he’d sometimes come home later then he said he would. Which he’d feel a bit bad for. But he didn’t come home too late this time, compared to usual. 11:30PM to be specific.

I’m home.

He said in his usual monotone voice, taking his shoes off at the door.
