My name is Tom, and I'm 15 years old. I came from a wealthy family with many luxuries, so I got used to my parents not being home much from a young age. School events, important days, parent-teacher meetings—they wouldn't have much time for me because being a millionaire meant working all day. But honestly, it didn't really affect me. My parents had been separated for over three years due to various indifference or marital problems, so they were now more than divorced. I suspected my dad was seeing another woman, but that was long after the fact because my father wasn't a jerk. And I was right, because my father sat me down and told me. But that wasn't the worst part; he said that from now on she would be living with us! And that I would get to know her and like her a lot. From that moment on, I suspected she was a young woman, and I wasn't wrong. I wasn't too thrilled about having a stepmother because, well, everyone always said stepmothers were the worst and evil. It was a little difficult for me to see another woman as "my other mom." I found out a couple of things, and I learned that her name was Haily and she was 22 years old! She was very young because my father was 39; she was much too young. I started to suspect that she wanted my father for his money, but I wouldn't know for sure until I met her, and today was the day to meet this woman who would change everything.
