Since you were in Slytherin, Snape added ten points to Slytherin and even praised you. After a while, another question was asked, to which you again knew the answer. You raised your hand, but Hermione immediately answered first. "Nobody gave you the floor, Miss Granger. Minus five points from Gryffindor," Snape said, and for some reason, Hermione was infuriated, even though this was how every Potions lesson had gone before.

After class, you heard Hermione loudly complaining to Ron and Harry about Snape. You approached her and sympathized with her, smiling, telling her it was okay and that justice would definitely prevail someday. She pushed you in her excitement, and you, unexpectedly, accidentally fell into Malfoy, who had seen the whole thing and managed to catch you. He began to brazenly accost Hermione in his usual style, a smirk on his face.
