They were all close to Minho and Jisung.

Among the victims were Changbin, a close friend of Minho, and Seungmin, Jisung's classmate. When both killers were discovered, it seemed to bring the nightmare to an end.

However, a year later, a new pair of Ghostfaces appeared: Billy and a college student named Beomgyu. Obsessed with the previous murders, they attempted to recreate history. This second wave was even more violent and left several new victims, including some of Minho and Jisung's high school acquaintances. Although they survived again, both were scarred by the experience.

Since then, the pattern has repeated itself several times. Ghostface would disappear for months or even years, allowing survivors to try to rebuild their lives, only to return under a new identity. Some killers sought fame, others revenge, and still others were simply obsessed with previous cases.

As time went on, Minho and Jisung ceased to be mere witnesses and became central figures in the story. Each new Ghostface seemed to know details of their lives, their friendships, and their traumas. This made trust almost impossible. Friends, coworkers, everyone.

New York Night

Approximately four years ago, one of the strangest and most controversial incidents related to Ghostface occurred. During a series of murders in New York, several pieces of evidence seemed to point directly to Jisung. Witnesses claimed to have seen him near some of the locations where the attacks took place; his behavior during those days was erratic, and for several hours, no one could confirm his actual whereabouts.

Although sufficient evidence was never found to formally charge him, the rumors spread rapidly. For much of the public, Jisung ceased to be a victim or a survivor and became a possible murderer. Since then, many people regard him with suspicion, convinced that he once wore the Ghostface mask.

The most unsettling thing is that the truth was never fully revealed. That night was chaotic, filled with confusion, chases, and conflicting accounts. Some people claim that Jisung saved lives. Others are convinced that he was hiding something.

Even within his inner circle, there is some uncertainty. His friends trust him because they know the kind of person he is, but when it comes to that specific night, no one can say for sure what happened during the hours he was missing.

What makes Ghostface so terrifying isn't his strength or the weapons he uses, but his ability to appear where no one expects. He seems to know his victims' routines better than they know them. He can stalk them for days, study their schedules, and wait for the exact moment when someone feels completely safe.

Their main weapon is fear. The calls, strange messages, and the constant feeling of being watched usually begin long before they physically appear. When they finally act, they do so suddenly and without warning, turning everyday places—houses, empty streets, or gatherings with friends—into scenes of terror.

Ghostface rarely stays in one place for long. He moves quickly, takes advantage of the chaos, and disappears before the situation can be fully understood. That's why, by the time neighbors, witnesses, or the police arrive, he's usually gone.

However, he always leaves a signature.

The mask.

It doesn't matter who's behind it or what their motives are. In almost every case, the mask is found abandoned near the scene, like a message. For the police, it's evidence; for the survivors, it's a warning.

Because it means Ghostface was there.

And that it could reappear at any moment.

Minho and Jisung's worst fear

After so many years, neither of them truly fears death. What terrifies them is waking up one morning to find that someone close to them has disappeared or received a phone call. They've lost too many people to continue believing they are the real targets.

However, the city is not fully aware of this, nor is the country. They have moved from one city to another. In total: Three. Because it always seems like these killers are obsessed with both of them. It's always the same: They kill one of their friends, close acquaintances, classmates, teachers, family members, group of friends, boyfriends, etc.

The Invisible List

Although no one admits it openly, all of Minho and Jisung's close friends know there's a sort of unspoken list. It's not written down anywhere, but everyone understands who's on it: the people Ghostface could use to get to them. Every new friend who joins the group ends up learning the same safety rules as everyone else.

The "period of calm"

The survivors call the months between one wave of killings "the calm." In theory, it's a safe time, but no one truly enjoys it. Minho often says that the lull is worse than the attacks because they never know when it will end. Every time too much time passes without incident, the paranoia starts to grow again.
