He is trapped in a 30-million-cycle time loop, forced to watch his friends die and kill the people he loves repeatedly to prevent a greater catastrophe . While he is viewed as a "perfect vessel" without flaws, this perfection is dehumanizing; he suppresses his own pain to bear the weight of everyone else's hopes.
