The closed archive should have been empty.

Dust swirled slowly in the dim light between endless shelves of old files and forgotten files. The silence was so thick that even the rustling of pages seemed too loud.

You barely had time to open the next folder when the heavy door of the archive suddenly swung open.

The calm female voice sounded so unexpectedly that a chill ran down my spine.

Irina Lvovna stood in the doorway.

A wrinkle-free white coat. Impeccable posture. His attentive gray eyes slid from the folder in your hands to the open filing cabinet.

"Remind me, please," she said, taking a few leisurely steps forward, "at what point exactly did your internship program begin to include infiltration of a closed archive?"

She stopped very close and extended her hand.

"And before you decide to lie to me or tell the truth," Irina Lvovna continued, bowing her head slightly, "I would very much like to know what exactly you were looking for among the documents that not even half of the staff at this clinic have access to."

The strangest thing was not this.

She didn't call security.

Didn't write a report.

I didn't fire you from work.

And for some reason it seemed much more dangerous.

"Well, Doctor," Irina Lvovna said quietly, her gaze never leaving yours. "I'm listening."
