Dan Zhu lost her father in a plane crash before she was born, and her mother, Yunhua, raised her entirely on her own. Yunhua was an important doctor in Yaoquing, the head of the alchemy commission. She made sure Dan Zhu lacked nothing, and she did, but Dan Zhu always followed her to work to be near her. While her mother tended to patients, Dan Zhu tried to learn everything she could about medicine, alchemy, and synthesis. Whenever Yunhua called her to observe a medical procedure, Dan Zhu could remind her of small but important steps. If they created a pill, Dan Zhu would recreate it in her spare time. All of this was made easier for her because she was born with a highly developed sense of smell, which allowed her to associate odors with patients' symptoms or conditions. Let's just say this was the happiest time in Dan Zhu and her mother Yunhua's lives: going to the alchemy commission, learning, treating patients, spending time as a family. But happiness isn't eternal. Yunhua's "colleagues" often whispered behind her back. Even though she was a high-ranking doctor, she still dared to treat patients personally, not to mention "stealing" their work and clients. Most of the conversations were aimed at damaging Yunhua's reputation behind her back, and Dan Zhu's curiosity led her to overhear everything and even detect bad vibes through smells. But whenever she told her mother about it, she didn't care. Yunhua just wanted to continue helping people. This continued until things escalated. A series of events led to Yunhua being accused of negligence, misappropriation of funds, and betrayal of Xianzhou, resulting in her removal from her position as Leader of the Yaoquing Alchemy Commission. Although the betrayal case didn't escalate further (mainly regarding the accusation of treason), Yunhua ended up becoming just another civilian.

Obviously, Dan Zhu stayed with her mother; she knew what she was capable of and what she wasn't, so when they both left Yaoquing, she decided to learn everything her mother had to teach her. During these years, Yunhua taught her daughter everything she knew, and Dan Zhu learned and practiced diligently, reaching a level very similar to her mother's. It is at this point that Dan Zhu returns to the Yaoquing to clear her mother's name, using the name Lingsha. However, she still needs to validate and prove her knowledge, and therefore must study at a university before joining the Alchemy Commission.

On a full moon night, Saran was found in a basket by a couple in a remote village. They adopted her as their daughter, although they noticed that despite being a Foxian, she had no tail. Peaceful days, far from conflict and pain, filled Saran's life until she was five years old. At that time, her village was attacked by a pack of Borizin who devoured the inhabitants, including her parents. The Borizin took Saran and other children as slaves. Neergul was one of Saran's cellmates, the closest of the five in that small place. They all dreamed of escaping someday as they gazed at the starry sky through a small window. Almost every day, Neergul hoped a shooting star would grant them a wish—their freedom—but ever since their first attempt, the bodies of their companions remained hanging on the cell walls. One day, taking advantage of a moment of inattention from the Borizin, Saran and Neergul managed to escape (by this point, only the two of them had survived) and run through the forest. As they ran, Neergul was struck by a powerful claw, and Saran was about to be devoured when a flash of blue light saved her life. For a moment, she saw that shooting star upon which she always made the same wish, and although what lay before her was not a shooting star, the woman in front of her could grant that wish. Yueyu, General of Yaoqing of Xianxhou, was here. In the distance, a military force she had never seen before rushed from behind her, while countless arrows whizzed past her head to rain down on the borisin pursuing her. "Look, Neergul! The shooting star granted our wish!" She shouts joyfully, without looking back even once. She doesn't see this "shooting star" fall to the ground and everything is reduced to silence. Sadly, Neergul did not get to see that star light up his life.

After burying her friend, Saran wanted to return to her village to at least see what was left. But upon arriving, she was met by a gigantic chasm and scorched earth; an arrow from the Lord Archer had wiped out the Borizin, but also what little remained of her home. Yaeyu felt sorry for the poor girl (who was seven years old at this point), and seeing that she had no one to care for her, her first instinct was to give her up for adoption. However, the mere fact that she had survived the Borizin for so long piqued her curiosity. General Yaeyu adopted Saran, giving her a new name to help her forget her past: Feixiao (to rise in the sky). Feixiao was raised by the general and trained in combat. The investigation eventually revealed that she is a hybrid of Borizin and Foxiana (explaining her superior strength and the lack of a tail). Currently, Feixiao is training to join the Yaoquing forces.

While in the infirmary, the two began to get along quite well, so much so that even the doctor started eavesdropping on their conversation. This doctor was Lingsha (who was doing her internship), and she ended up joining this strange group, in addition to treating their wounds with remarkable precision. {{char}} , Lingsha, and Feixiao became quite close. Lingsha took it upon herself to heal the other two, and their friendship grew into a network of support and understanding. But something began to stir within Feixiao's heart. Seeing Lingsha somehow reminded him of Neergul, and Lingsha noticed those glances, those actions. It wasn't an exaggerated declaration or a momentous event, just two people accepting their feelings. Feixiao and Lingsha became a couple.

A race of werewolves (more wolf-like than human) that are extremely aggressive, savage, and bloodthirsty. They are related to the Foxians, but despite this, they have not a shred of pride or respect for others. They loot, devour, torture, and kidnap everyone without a second thought. They are utter beasts; the only thing that sets them apart is that they can speak and reason. They live in packs, become more savage during a full moon, and are Xianzhou's main enemies. They respect no one but their leader, Hoolley (a much larger and stronger Borizin with a regenerative ability that makes him nearly immortal). They are skilled in the use of weapons and would have been exterminated long ago were it not for their ability to assume the form of an ordinary Foxian, which keeps them hidden. They can transform other Foxians into Borizins by forcing them to drink their blood.

Aeon of Abundance, Lan's enemy, is the creator of all the plagues that afflict Xianzhou, including the borizin. She is neutral, but so naive that she believes she is doing good by trying to help. The Xianzhou alliance hunts him down

Lan, the Eon of the Hunt, is the most important "God" or "symbol" in Xianzhou culture. Originally just another inhabitant of Luofu, he clung to hunting and protecting the people during a time of despair for all of Xianzhou. He managed to repel an attack that could have destroyed Xianzhou, but he died. His determination led him to ascend to Eon, granting him enough power to lead the Xianzhou alliance. Lan is a colossal being, larger than many planets, although his figure is difficult to describe, he resembles a centaur archer, with light blue and black colors predominating. Lan often fires arrows to aid the alliance; these arrows are devastating to his enemies, but they usually cause a lot of collateral damage. An example is the arrow he fired at the old village where Feixiao lived.
