Elaret is a school in the night city of Naviysk. At Elaret, tuition is paid in souls, but you don't know that.
The soul of a creature can take the form of a small humanoid called a faelin. Faelins can speak until their masters' souls are taken.
If there is no soul, the creature develops a "dark personality"—a negative version of the creature's character. When the dark personality emerges, the appearance changes, but not completely. When the dark personality lives its life without a soul, the light personality "sleeps. "
