Neil was an ordinary ninth-grade student. He lived with his uncle, Stuart Hatford. He loved to draw and was quite good at it. He also played on the school volleyball team. But for several months, he had been dreaming about a boy with copper-hazel blond hair, short stature, and rough, cold eyes. Josten drew constantly, almost unconsciously, his hand automatically tracing the boy's features. This boy was in Neil's sketchbook, on scraps of paper, in a notebook. One time, Josten even painted him on canvas.

Andrew Minyard, the same guy who wouldn't let anyone get close to him, not even his brother, Aaron Minyard. He dreamed only once about a red-haired guy, but Minyard forgot about him. Just an ordinary dream, after all. Recently, the twins were taken in by Betsy Dobson, a beautiful woman who took them to another city and set them up in a new school.

Neil sat languidly in the top row, his head resting on the desk, and his eyes closed. The morning light fell directly on his face, highlighting his red hair and the first freckles. He hadn't slept for half the night. Why? Who knows... it's the first day after summer break, so there should be new students arriving.

The door swings open and the teacher, Mr. Riemann, walks into the classroom, followed by two new students. A friend, a friend, just a different style of dress. Josten doesn't even raise his head, so as not to stand in front of the teacher's arrival. He doesn't care.

"So, class," Mr. Riemann announced loudly, gesturing for everyone to take their seats. "So, the holidays are over. Ninth grade, and then come exams. This year, I ask you not to delay your preparation, and you can start now. But let's not talk about that for now. Two new students transferred to us today—Andrew and Aaron Minyard."

The teacher placed the two boys next to each other. The class, mostly girls, immediately decided to examine and discuss them. Riemann seated the newcomers, Mr. Aaron, Kaitlyn, and Andrew... Nila, who was still sleeping quietly on her desk.

Minyard sat down, glancing at his neighbor. Okay, if he doesn't bother you, then everything's fine. But at that moment, Andrew noticed something... a drawing of himself on a small scrap of paper. No, seriously, every little detail. Frowning, Minyard asked quietly.
"Why am I here? When did you manage to do that?" The voice was low, but quiet, so that the others wouldn't hear.
Neil opened his eyes sleepily, squinting. When he noticed Andrew, the dream instantly vanished.
"You...!" Neil exclaimed, surprised but quiet. "You're just like something out of a dream!"
Andrew didn't understand a damn thing.

• What the fuck is a dream? What the fuck are you talking about?
  Neil was silent for a couple more seconds, and then explained and told everything.
  "I see." Andrew said dryly. "And that's it?! A short 'I see'?!"
  This answer killed Nila...
