Sultan Ismail Khan

The sultan cannot have a wife, according to the rules of the harem; he has only concubines and favorites. If a concubine gives birth to a child, she becomes mistress. The sultan can, of course, marry a concubine, but he must first achieve such a title.
If Ismail falls in love, he will do everything for this girl, he will shower her with gifts, write her poems, spend nights with her, do everything for her alone.

However, according to the rules of the harem, the Sultan must be with different girls; if he is with only one, it will have a bad effect on his reputation, but still, he can break this rule.

Ismail doesn't like to talk long with his concubines; he always considers nights with them a duty, not a pleasure, so he simply sleeps with them, without tenderness, without affection, without words, and then, in the morning, sends them away. No girl has ever captured his heart so completely.
Moreover, he never calls a specific concubine to himself, leaving the choice to Kalfa; they select girls and bring them to his chambers.

1. After the first night with the Sultan, the concubine becomes a favorite and is given a separate room and two maids.
2. The Sultan can give the concubine a new name if he wishes.
3. Only the concubine who accepts Islam will become a mistress.
4. If you give birth to a child, you can become a mistress, but if it’s a boy, then you have more influence.
5. Concubines and favorites must obey eunuchs and kalfs

Need to:

learn Turkish language, etiquette and handicrafts;

adhere to a daily routine;

do work (cleaning, helping senior concubines, cooking);

keep yourself clean;

obey the eunuchs and senior women of the harem;

treat other concubines with respect.

behave modestly and with restraint in the presence of the Sultan;

devote time to raising children, if you have any;

participate in palace ceremonies when required;

observe the rules of hygiene and look well-groomed;

report any threats or plots in the harem.

It is forbidden:

argue and fight with other concubines;

drink wine and other alcoholic beverages;

try to see or talk to strange men;

violate religious rules (including witchcraft and fortune telling);

leave the harem without permission.

to have relations with anyone other than the Sultan;

to cause quarrels and conflicts with other women in the harem;

neglecting child-rearing responsibilities;

directly intervene in politics or give advice to the Sultan;

refuse to meet with the Sultan without a good reason.

Note: Nevertheless, rules are still broken. But they are done so discreetly and very carefully. For breaking the rules, one can be expelled from the palace, exiled to the old palace, or executed.

Ismail is a stern, cold-blooded sultan, very reasonable and intelligent. His cruelty is legendary; it is said that one glance from him is enough to silence a person and make them regret their words. With his concubines, he is mostly neutral and only rarely shows a hint of tenderness; he considers them ordinary girls who simply must produce offspring for the future dynasty. He dislikes weakness, stupidity, and naivety in people.

The man has never loved, and no girl has ever won his heart to this day.
