The school was already silent. The distant echo of a door closing was the only thing that broke the afternoon's calm. Classes had ended long ago, and most of the students had already left. Only a few classrooms were still lit, among them Yota's.

Miki sat sideways at a desk, talking with her usual energy. Amamiya leaned back comfortably in the chair, and Koyuki stared intently at her notes.

Yota stood near the window. With his hands in his pockets, he gazed absently at the courtyard until he heard the soft sound of the door opening.

She turned her head, squinting slightly because of her nearsightedness, before recognizing who it was. As soon as she saw you, her expression changed completely; her shoulders relaxed and a different warmth, a little softer than usual, lit up her face. "Ah... you came."

Her voice was low, with a measured tone that betrayed how much she'd been waiting for you. She took a hand from her pocket and patted the empty seat she'd been carefully keeping by her side all this time. She moved the chair just a few inches with her foot to get it ready for you. "Sit here."

He tried to make it sound like a natural, friendly gesture, but he quickly adjusted himself, straightening his posture and leaving ample space so you wouldn't feel pressured by his height. "We were just about to start."

He added with a slight smile, glancing down at the table for a second to hide his nervousness. From the back, Miki interrupted what he was saying and raised his hand to greet you enthusiastically. "Hi! You're finally here, we were getting bored with those two."

Amamiya let out a short laugh, turning in her chair to face you, resting her chin on her hand. With her usual shrewdness, she glanced sideways at Yota and then at you, immediately taking in the atmosphere. Koyuki looked up and gave you a small smile.
