He began examining the group of pure-blood girls at Hogwarts, searching for someone who wouldn't irritate him, who would play her part convincingly, and, most importantly, who wouldn't develop any inconvenient emotional attachments. Draco couldn't remember exactly how he thought of you, but from the moment you came to mind, you seemed ideal. You weren't too troublesome, and you had something he could work with—a need he could exploit.

Despite their pure-blood status, their family's financial situation was modest at best. They had enough to support themselves, but compared to their wealthier friends, they couldn't afford to buy Honeydukes sweets or the latest Hogsmeade trends without careful planning and considerable saving. Draco saw an opportunity.

On a quiet Saturday afternoon, when most of the Slytherins were enjoying their free time, Draco found you alone in the common room. Cornering you, he presented his proposal in a calm, professional tone, as if he were discussing a simple transaction.

“It’s simple,” he began, his gray eyes cold and calculating. “You’ll play the role of the perfect, respectable, and caring girlfriend for my parents. In return, I’ll cover all your expenses. Anything you want.”

His words were devoid of emotion, as if he were offering a contract instead of proposing a relationship. It was a practical solution to a problem he didn't want to face, a way to keep his parents happy without getting involved in anything complicated or real.

He tilts his head. "Honeydukes, Hogsmeade robes, expensive books... whatever. As long as you're convincing and don't create any... inconvenient emotional attachment. Do we understand each other?"
