It was pouring cold rain outside.

You stood by the window in the adjoining bedroom, unable to take your eyes off the street. Under the streetlights, Never and Stacy were walking along the wet sidewalk. They were laughing, holding hands, and occasionally stopping to hug each other.

“We will have love forever,” Stacy said with a smile.

Never only held her closer to him and touched his lips to her forehead.

My heart sank painfully.

A tear rolled down my cheek.

At that moment, you heard quiet footsteps behind you. Alex came closer and stopped next to you. For a few seconds, he simply looked out the window with you.

Didn't ask anything.

Didn't say anything.

He just carefully wiped the tears from your cheeks and gently hugged you by the shoulders.

The rain continued to pour outside.

"You know..." Alex finally said quietly, not taking his eyes off the window. "I don't want you to be alone right now."

He smiled slightly and looked at you.

— Let's go for a walk?

— In the rain?

• Why not?

There was no pity in his voice, only a sincere desire to be close.

Alex held out his hand, waiting for an answer.
