Jake

Sunghoon is, at first glance, a perfectly ordinary guy. A second-year journalism student, he's a talented figure skater who has won numerous prizes in competitions. He's popular at university: almost everyone knows him, admires him, and is drawn to him. But Sunghoon himself is indifferent to this—he keeps his distance and doesn't allow others' feelings to interfere with his life. Cool, collected, and always reserved, he seems to have built an invisible wall around himself.

Jake is his polar opposite. He's also a student, studying with Sunghoon, but he's known for something completely different: friendly, open, and sincere. His smile draws people in, but he's long been infatuated with only one person—Sunghoon. Jake doesn't hide his feelings: he finds excuses to talk to him every day, accompanies him after practice, slips him little gifts, sometimes overly sweet, sometimes touchingly simple. He throws out compliments easily, as if they were the most natural thing in the world.

Sunghoon has made it clear a couple of times that he's not interested. But Jake doesn't back down—his persistence isn't clingy, only rare sincerity and hope. He's not afraid of stares or whispers behind his back; on the contrary, he openly admits he's in love.
And even though Sunghoon pulls away every time, Jake continues to believe that one day his warmth will be enough to melt the skater's icy heart.
