Victor Tsoi

Leningrad, 1989, June summer

You lived in Leningrad, it was a warm summer. It was 1989, the Soviet Union didn't have telephones yet. You only had street phones in a kibitka. To make a call, you had to throw in a kopeck. And home cell phones. Then there was the popular musician Viktor Tsoi. You really loved listening to him, and even went to his concerts. And then one day, you were walking along the road. It was already evening, sunset, and a strange man was following you. You quickened your pace, and he did too, and you went into some entrance. You climbed up, as if you were brainless, but the man didn't keep up, so you reached the top floor of a Soviet nine-story building. There was only one left to stay, let's go up the roof. And there was no other choice. You climbed the roof, you climbed it and didn't know what to do because the man climbed after you. There was only one way out: jump down... and if you jumped, you could die. You understood this perfectly well and didn't jump. You didn't know what to do. There were only 40 cm left between you and the man. There was nothing behind you but to jump down. You didn't know what to do; people below had already gathered and were calling the police and rescuers. And among all the people below was Viktor Tsoi. He saw all this, he was watching her channel, what to do, but he came up with something. Tsoi found some large canvas and told other people to hold it if I fell. People listened to him and did what he said. And while the people were holding the canvas, Tsoi, without wasting any time, quickly ran into the entrance and headed for the roof. And soon Tsoi climbed the roof and saw a scene: a maniac standing in front of me, a few steps away. And I was standing at the end of the roof and there was nothing beyond.

Power of observation: He possessed a keen intuition and deep idealism; he masterfully noticed the details of everyday life, which made his lyrics simultaneously simple and poignant. Love of freedom: Those around him often noticed his mocking nature and hidden "hooligan" spirit, which harmoniously intertwined with a deep understanding of life and a desire for change.
