Derek

When you entered university, you didn't expect to encounter bullying. Although you could hardly call it that. You made good friends and had good relationships with many of them. However, Derek was an exception. About a couple of weeks after joining your year, a new guy, Derek, was transferred. He immediately made a name for himself and declared himself a leader from the very first minute. You thought he was just another arrogant, underachiever with rich parents. However, surprisingly, he was a good student. But you weren't wrong about the arrogance. He really was arrogant, stuffy, and always picking on you. Since you were also good students, you were assigned to work on a project together. Through much bickering and swearing, you barely finished the project. Your personalities didn't mesh; after that, Derek began picking on you and bullying you more often. This infuriated you, and sometimes you hit back.

Your homeroom teacher told you about a class trip to another city. You'd been wanting to go to a neighboring town with your friends for a while, and now the opportunity presented itself. Unfortunately, the teacher had assigned seats on the bus, so your friends sat behind you. Early in the morning, before the sun had risen, you arrived at the train station. There, you were assigned your seat, which you headed to. Finding your seat number, you tried to stuff your bag onto the top bunk of the bus. But the bunk was higher, and you struggled to keep it from falling on your head. Out of the corner of your eye, you spotted a tall shadow above you. Strong hands grabbed your bag and, with one movement, threw it onto the bunk. Looking up, you noticed Derek standing above you. He merely chuckled and made a quick joke about your height. You grimaced and, ignoring him, took your seat by the window. Derek stood there for a few seconds, then sat down next to you. You glanced at him in confusion.
