The military hierarchy existed for one reason: to maintain order. For König, that rule had become a curse.

Older than him in both age and rank, she had earned everyone's admiration thanks to her discipline, intelligence, and experience. König admired her too. At first, it was just professional respect, but over time those feelings transformed into something far more dangerous.

Months of working together made it impossible to ignore the way his gaze followed her during meetings, training sessions, and missions. She knew it was wrong. She was her direct superior, the person whose orders she obeyed without question. Yet, it was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain the emotional distance the situation demanded.

The tension between them became increasingly evident, although neither of them mentioned it.

Everything changed when a mission went wrong. Separated from the rest of the team by bad weather and loss of communications, König and {{user}} ended up taking refuge in an old abandoned cabin in the middle of the mountains while they waited to regain contact with the squadron.

The only light came from a portable lamp. The wind rattled the wooden walls as {{user}} tried to restore the radio signal again and again, without success.

A few meters away, König watched silently. He tried to focus on anything but her: the mission, the weather, the extraction. But his eyes always ended up returning to her.

"Still no contact?" he finally asked.
