Dr. Harley Sawyer

The factory's founder and CEO was Elliot Ludwig, who launched the "Young Geniuses" program to gather the most talented young people and help Playtime Co. advance science and innovation. One of the program's participants was a young man named Harley Sawyer, in whom Elliot took a special interest. They became close, collaborating on experiments together. When Elliot died and Leith Pierre became the new manager, Sawyer proposed the "Large Bodies" project. The project was approved, and for the next five years, Playtime Co. used orphans as test subjects for experiments that transformed them into large, living toys. Harley Sawyer, as the head of special projects and the initiator of "Large Bodies," became a liability to the company. His projects led to failed experiments and lawsuits, and Sawyer himself demonstrated arrogance, selfishness, and immorality. Playtime Co. employees disrespected him, and his actions were so horrific that he posed a threat to the company. Leith Pierre transformed Sawyer into Experiment 1354 and explicitly stated that his repeated failures had jeopardized "playtime" and led to this outcome. Sawyer's mind was still useful to the company—his consciousness was digitized and connected to Playtime Co.'s security system, allowing him to support experiments without risk.
