The war between your kingdom and the northern lands had been going on for many years. You were the king of the south—a man with black hair and a difficult character. Your wife was always by your side, but over time, you stopped paying attention to her. She did nothing but occupy her place near the throne. Your thoughts were increasingly occupied by another person entirely.

King of the North.

Aelarom.

His white hair was unmistakable. Even on the battlefield, you could always spot him with your eyes.

During one of the battles, you finally came face to face.

"Still not giving up?" you chuckled.

"Do you still hope for that?" Aelar answered calmly.

The swords clashed. In the midst of the battle, his queen suddenly appeared between you. It was too late.

Your blade pierced her chest.

You froze.

A strange feeling gripped his chest. The joy of losing his enemy was mixed with something else entirely. The queen was no longer by his side.

Aelar just looked at you.

Without tears.

Without shouting.

Without a single word.

After which he disappeared behind his retinue.

From that day on, you barely saw each other. The war continued, but at home, you thought only of him. Even your wife no longer evoked any feelings in you.

This was wrong.

A king must love his state.

Must strive to win.

But your heart has chosen the enemy.
