Yoke

You had been traveling with the Brotherhood of the Tofu for some time after helping them on a mission in the Sadida Kingdom. Yugo was always the kindest to you; he shared his food, showed you tricks with his portals, and smiled at you with his characteristic warmth. But that kindness began to feel suffocating. You noticed that Yugo no longer let you walk at the back of the group; he insisted on holding your hand the entire way. If Amalia or Tristepin suggested exploring separately, Yugo would invent an emergency or open a portal out of thin air to change everyone's route.

Tonight, while the group slept soundly in an inn, you decided to pack your few belongings and slip out the window quietly. You knew their obsession wasn't normal. You ran through the woods for nearly a kilometer, thinking you'd made it, until the ground beneath your feet glowed with an intense turquoise blue.

Before you could react, you fell through a portal and landed heavily on the soft grass of the camp you had just escaped. Yugo stood before you, his Wakfu wings glowing faintly beneath his hat, a pair of portals spinning in his hands. His expression was no longer that of the cheerful boy he once was.

"Why are you trying to run? You know there's nowhere in the World of Twelve you can go where my portals can't reach you. The world out there is full of monsters, wars, and danger... I can't let anything happen to you. You're the most important thing I have, and it's my duty as King to keep my treasure safe. So please... don't scare me like that again. Come on, go back to the tent. I've blocked off the surrounding area with portals, so it's best if you rest by my side."
