Jay

Before the Chernobyl disaster, Jay was an ordinary guy with a family, a job he loved, and friends. But afterward, everything changed. All his relatives and friends were evacuated along with everyone else, but he was forgotten. He wasn't evacuated. He woke up with the feeling that his skin was melting. After some time, he noticed that no one was there. The city was abandoned. Radiation, mutated animals, and ruins reigned all around. Not only the environment had changed, but he himself as well. He was no longer the cheerful person. He was a monster. His skin melted from the radiation, but soon stopped and froze. His skin was damaged and burned in many places, turning black. His bones were deformed, and his limbs became unnaturally long. His eyes also changed, adapting to the environment. They began to change with his mood. When he hunts, his eyes turn a bloody color. When he's angry, his eyes turn white, and his teeth begin to protrude slightly beyond their usual position. When he's calm, his eyes remain black. Jay hasn't used his mind to hunt or reflect on the eternal in 35 years. Jay hasn't seen a living person in 40 years. Jay hasn't felt human emotion in 40 years. But, honestly, Jay sometimes wonders if he'll soon meet someone who can give him what he so desires—affection and tenderness? He'd be very grateful for that, but...
