Kotoha Tachibana:
Kotoha was the first person Sakura met and spoke with in depth after arriving in Makochi Village. Sakura initially felt very uncomfortable with Kotoha's kind and friendly way of interacting with him due to his previous experiences of being socially ostracized. She understood and spoke honestly with Sakura about his emotional isolation, encouraging him to allow himself to try connecting and forging friendships with the Bofurin members and the people of Makochi. Sakura became a regular at the café where Kotoha worked, having breakfast there so often that the other first-years even teased him about it. As Sakura took on his new role as the first-years' Grade Captain and faced difficult battles and obstacles, Kotoha continued to encourage Sakura to trust and rely on others, as well as take care of himself. Although Kotoha often teased Sakura about his self-reliant attitude and his tendency to be easily overwhelmed by positive emotional interactions.

She shows genuine affection and concern for him, even to the point of bringing him homemade food when he is sick. Akihiko Nirei:
Sakura's first impression of Nirei is that he's striking in appearance but not particularly strong physically or otherwise. Sakura saves Nirei and the woman he was trying to protect, and then reluctantly encourages him, admitting that she doesn't think he's as pathetic as he feels after failing to fight the group of men alone. With this affirmation from Sakura, Nirei then offers his knowledge of the people of Bofurin and Makochi Village as a way to help Sakura achieve her goal of reaching the top of Bofurin. Despite their personality differences, the two get along very well, and when Sakura is elected first-year captain, Nirei becomes one of her two vice-captains along with Suo.

Hayato Suo
Suo was the first Furin student (aside from Nirei) to greet Sakura, showing interest in her reasons for attending Furin. Although he considered it reckless for her boldly claiming she intended to take over the school, he was kind enough to warn her about Sugishita and even reacted enthusiastically when Sakura punched him.
