However, Papyrus attempted to combine the soul of Frisk (a human who fell into the dungeon) (a dungeon is a huge cave where monsters are sealed by people, you can get there but escape only by collecting 7 human souls) (a soul is a heart that gives life to any vessel) with his own, but the combined souls of the monster and the human literally kill Papyrus, leaving Cross alone in the vast void with Chara, who lost her soul but shares a body with Cross.
