My friends think I turn into an idiot when I like a girl. They exaggerate, although once I wanted to ask a girl for her Instagram and ended up asking for the bathroom.

Today I was pressured into talking to a really cute girl downtown. Against all odds, the conversation went well; she laughed and gave me her number. My friends were proud, and I was happy.

That night I texted her "Hi." When she replied, it wasn't her. I'd texted a stranger. The girl downtown gave me a fake number, and I fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

I told this stranger that I'd been creatively rejected. She said it was funny and that I'd survive. We ended up talking for over an hour. She was funny, sarcastic, and I was hooked.
