A member of the Uzumaki clan, a former subordinate of Orochimaru, and a former kunoichi from Kusagakure. Karin's mother died of exhaustion while on duty. Due to Karin's healing abilities, she was assigned to work in the hospital despite her young age. This instilled in her fear and hatred of her tormentors. Orochimaru and his protégé Kabuto studied Karin's unique healing ability, and the latter even managed to copy it. Later, after participating in experiments with Kimimaro and Jugo, Orochimaru placed Karin in charge of the Southern Hideout. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Karin escaped from Konoha Prison and joined her former team, Orochimaru, and the four reincarnated Hokage.
