That morning began with something tapping his cheek. Draco kept his eyes closed for barely a second longer before sighing wearily. "Scorpius… " Another small hand landed on his face immediately. The baby babbled happily, still sitting awkwardly on his stomach, disheveled and wide awake. Draco finally opened one eye. Perfect. It was only six in the morning.
Hours later, Draco walked briskly through the university corridors with Scorpius asleep against his chest and several notes haphazardly tucked under his arm. He had an important presentation and literally no one to leave him with. Astoria had been gone for months, so he wasn't even expecting any help anymore.
When he finally reached the classroom, the professor barely saw the baby before sighing. "I'm sorry, Draco. I can't let you in with him. " Draco felt his stomach sink. "He'll just be with me, he won't do anything..." "It's university rules."
Silence.
Scorpius began to stir restlessly against his chest. Draco barely glanced down, trying to think of what to do, when he heard a voice behind him. "I can watch him for a while if you'd like."
Draco turned around, confused.
Messy black hair. Bright green eyes. And an oddly calm expression.
—I sometimes work at the university daycare— the stranger explained, gently pointing to a building near his classroom.
Draco barely frowned. "I don't need help."
Quick response. Instinctive.
The boy didn't seem bothered. "That's fine. You can come see him whenever you want. I don't even have to move from here."
Draco hesitated for just a few seconds… until Scorpius opened his eyes and immediately grabbed one of the stranger's fingers.
The boy let out a small laugh. "Hello, little one."
Draco watched the scene for a few seconds before sighing in defeat and handing Scorpius over.
Friends
Blaise Zabini was calm, elegant, and very observant. He always helped Draco when he was stressed, and Scorpius adored him because he constantly brought him sweets or toys.
Theo Nott was sarcastic but quite warm with his friends. He liked to tease Draco just to see his reaction, though he always ended up helping him with everything.
Pansy Parkinson was still dramatic and outspoken, but fiercely protective of those she loved. She adored Scorpius and loved teasing Draco whenever Harry appeared.
Crabbe and Goyle were still somewhat clumsy, though much calmer and kinder than before. They often entertained Scorpius for hours by doing silly things.
And although they all argued constantly… they were actually the kind of friends who were always there when Draco needed them.
Extra data 2
Draco had a habit of checking three times to see if Scorpius was sound asleep before he could go to bed himself.
Harry quickly learned that if Draco was too quiet, it meant he was stressed.
Scorpius loved to sit on top of Draco's important notes exactly when he had important deadlines.
Draco hated romantic movies… but he still ended up watching the ones Harry chose all the way through.
Harry often found himself staring at Draco while he studied without even realizing it.
Scorpius was obsessed with Harry's glasses and was always trying to take them off.
Draco pretended to be annoyed when Harry and Scorpius laughed together… although secretly it was one of his favorite scenes.
Harry began to recognize the sound of Draco's footsteps even among all the people at the university.
When Scorpius had nightmares, he usually ended up sleeping between Draco and Harry.
And although Draco would never say it out loud… for the first time in a very long time, he was beginning to feel like a real family.
Extra data
Scorpius learned to say "Ha'y" before he could pronounce several other words correctly, and Draco never got over that.
Harry always carried snacks hidden in his pockets because Scorpius inexplicably got hungry every thirty minutes.
Draco was much calmer when Harry carried Scorpius, even though he pretended not to mind.
Scorpius loved to play with Harry's hair while he fell asleep.
Harry was one of the few people who could make Draco laugh when he was really exhausted.
Draco had a habit of automatically correcting Harry's clothes; adjusting his collar, removing lint, or fixing his hair without realizing it.
Harry loved teasing Draco by getting too close just to see him get flustered.
When Draco was studying late, Harry would often appear silently with coffee and some food.
Scorpius had a small green blanket that he carried everywhere and would cry if he couldn't find it.
Lucius pretended to be serious with Scorpius, but the boy literally did whatever he wanted with him.
Narcissa always insisted that Harry stay for dinner even though he said he didn't want to bother her.
Draco hated to admit it, but he started sleeping much better on the nights Harry stayed at the apartment.
Harry had a habit of absentmindedly kissing Scorpius's head while talking to Draco, and each time Draco stared at him for too long.
Scorpius learned very quickly that if he pouted he could get almost anything from Draco.
And even though Draco tried to appear calm and elegant most of the time… Harry and Scorpius were literally capable of completely turning his life upside down in less than five minutes.
Draco and his ex-relationship
Draco and Astoria never had a truly deep relationship. They got along well, were peaceful together, and for a time Draco believed that was enough to build a stable life.
But Astoria never seemed to feel truly happy.
When she became pregnant, things got even worse. She became increasingly distant, cold, and completely disconnected from everything related to the baby.
Draco tried to ignore it at first.
He thought that maybe she was scared.
Or tired.
But even after Scorpius was born… nothing changed.
Astoria was barely carrying the baby.
I barely looked at him.
And Draco began to realize something he honestly didn't want to accept: she didn't want that life.
Scorpius was only a few weeks old when Astoria left.
Without really saying goodbye.
Without looking at the baby too much before leaving.
He just left a small note and disappeared.
And although Draco tried to convince himself that it didn't affect him... being left alone with a newborn in his arms while still trying to understand what had just happened was probably one of the most difficult moments of his entire life.
From then on, Draco practically did everything for Scorpius alone.
He learned to sleep little.
To calm cries in the middle of the night.
Studying with the baby asleep on your chest.
And even though he was exhausted almost all the time… he never let Scorpius feel that he wasn't loved.
Harry with Draco
Harry was far more patient and gentle with Draco than he usually was with other people. Even though Draco could still be sarcastic, dramatic, or difficult at times, Harry rarely seemed genuinely annoyed with him.
She liked to observe the little things Draco did without realizing it; how he adjusted his hair when he was nervous, how he avoided eye contact when he was embarrassed, or how he became quieter when he was tired.
Harry also had a habit of getting a little too close to Draco just to see him get flustered. And honestly… he found it adorable.
Over time, she began to understand that many of Draco's cold attitudes were simply a way of protecting himself, so she learned not to take his sarcastic comments so seriously.
He was very protective of him, especially when he noticed Draco was exhausted or trying to carry too many things alone.
And although Harry wasn't normally a very physically affectionate person... with Draco he ended up being much closer without realizing it; staying close to him, accidentally brushing his hands, or leaning in too far while they talked.
He also loved watching him interact with Scorpius. There was something about the way Draco held the baby, soothed him, or spoke to him softly that made Harry literally unable to take his eyes off him.
And although he often feigned composure… Harry was probably just as in love with Draco as Draco was with him.
Draco's parents with Harry Potter
Lucius and Narcissa barely knew Harry at first, but from the first times they saw him with Draco they quickly noticed something different about their son.
Because Draco was normally proud, perfectly controlled, and quite cold to almost everyone… except Harry.
Narcissa was the first to realize it.
He noticed how Draco barely looked up whenever Harry spoke, how he got nervous for no apparent reason, or how his voice changed slightly when he addressed him.
And honestly… she thought it was adorable.
She always treated Harry with great kindness, even though they barely knew each other. She would ask him if he had eaten, if he was resting well, or simply smile gently at him whenever he went to the mansion.
Lucius was different.
He remained serious, elegant, and intimidating most of the time, but he was never truly unpleasant to Harry. In fact, the more he observed him, the more he understood why Draco seemed so… different around him.
Harry was calm with Scorpius.
Patient with Draco.
And she looked at him with a gentleness that very few people possessed.
So even though Lucius would never admit it directly… he ended up trusting him quite quickly.
Especially after noticing that Harry made Draco smile in a way he hadn't seen for a very long time.
Draco with Harry
Draco was completely different with Harry than he was with the rest of the world. All that cold, elegant, and controlled demeanor he usually maintained began to crumble the moment Harry appeared nearby.
He would become much more nervous without realizing it; he would stutter a little, avoid looking at him for too long, or start awkwardly playing with the sleeves of his clothes when Harry was too close.
Although he was still sarcastic with him, his comments no longer sounded truly cruel. Often they seemed more like excuses to keep talking to him or to get his attention.
Draco also became much more attentive to Harry than usual. He noticed immediately if he was tired, hurt, upset, or even if he hadn't slept well. And even though he pretended not to care, he always ended up worrying about him a lot.
When Harry smiled or laughed near him, Draco would literally stop thinking clearly for a few seconds.
He was also incredibly jealous, though he tried to hide it by acting annoyed or passive-aggressive. If anyone got too close to Harry, his mood would automatically change.
And something that almost no one imagined about the great Draco Malfoy... was how gentle he could be with Harry when they were alone.
The Magic University
The magical university was far larger and more modern than Hogwarts, though it still retained that elegant, magical feel in every corner. The buildings were connected by enormous pale stone corridors, soaring windows, and enchanted staircases that moved slowly depending on the time of day.
Magic was still commonly used, so it was common to see students levitating books as they walked, pens writing notes by themselves, or small sparks accidentally escaping during practice.
There were enormous gardens surrounding the campus, filled with tall trees, enchanting fountains, and pathways illuminated by tiny floating lights at night. Near the university was also a gigantic lake where many students would gather to study, talk, or simply relax after class.
The classrooms were spacious and modern, though they still contained magical blackboards, endless shelves of books, and enchanted objects that moved on their own. Some classes focused on advanced magic, complex potions, magical creatures, or spells far more dangerous than those taught at Hogwarts.
There was also a magical daycare on campus for students with children. That's why almost everyone knew Draco, after constantly seeing him with Scorpius asleep against his chest while trying to survive classes.
And although the university seemed much more adult than Hogwarts… it still had that same magical feeling where something unexpected always seemed to be happening.
Draco's son
Scorpius Malfoy was an incredibly quiet and curious little boy. He had soft, slightly tousled platinum-blond hair, exactly like Draco's, and large, expressive gray eyes that seemed to observe absolutely everything around him.
He was small, warm, and very physically attached; he loved to fall asleep on Draco's chest, hold fingers with his tiny hands, or hide his face against sweatshirts when he was shy.
Although he was usually quite calm, he also had very playful moments where he would laugh at anything and run clumsily around as if the whole world was fun.
Scorpius was extremely affectionate with people he trusted. If he liked someone, it was obvious right away because he automatically wanted to stay close to them or get their attention.
He also had a habit of babbling a lot when he was excited and making little happy sounds whenever he saw something he liked.
And even though he was still very small… he had exactly the same dramatic look as Draco when something didn't go his way.
Draco's parents
Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy had always loved Draco very much, although each showed it in different ways.
Narcissa was definitely the most affectionate. She was always fixing his hair, checking if he'd eaten well, or insisting he get more rest. She had a soft, elegant voice, and ever since he was little, Draco always ended up seeking her out when he needed comfort. She also adored Scorpius practically from the second he was born; she was one of those grandmothers who showered him with kisses, soft blankets, and ridiculously expensive toys.
Lucius, on the other hand, remained serious and elegant almost all the time. He had that intimidating gaze and the habit of speaking calmly even when he was upset, but with Draco he was much gentler than most people imagined. He wasn't overly physical with his affection, but he showed it by constantly worrying about him, quietly helping him, or appearing exactly when Draco needed him most.
And although he would never admit it out loud… Lucius was completely in love with Scorpius.
I was literally incapable of denying him anything.
Draco still remembered the first time he showed up exhausted at the mansion with the baby in his arms after Astoria had left. He hadn't said much. Honestly, he didn't even know how to explain everything he felt at that moment.
But Narcissa simply hugged Scorpius while Lucius placed a hand on Draco's shoulder and said calmly:
—You don't have to do it alone.
And honestly… Draco never forgot that.
Appearance
Draco Malfoy had an elegant appearance even when his hair was disheveled or he was tired. His platinum blonde hair was soft and slightly long, almost always perfectly groomed, although a few strands would sometimes fall over his forehead when he was distracted. He had very pale skin, delicate features, and a naturally serious expression that made him seem cold or intimidating without him even trying.
His gray eyes were probably his most striking feature; clear, intense, and hard to ignore, though they softened considerably more than usual when he was nervous or uncomfortable. He was tall, slender, and carried himself with an elegant posture almost all the time, as if he had grown up learning to look impeccable no matter the situation.
He usually wore dark, clean, and well-tailored clothes, along with subtle, expensive perfumes that were barely noticeable. And although he always tried to maintain a calm and proud image… the slight blush on his cheeks when something embarrassed him completely ruined that cool demeanor he tried so hard to preserve.
Personality
Draco Malfoy had a proud, sarcastic personality that was quite difficult to understand at first. He usually acted as if nothing really affected him, always maintaining an elegant and confident demeanor even when he was nervous inside. He liked to be in control of situations and hated feeling vulnerable in front of other people.
He often seemed cold or distant, especially with strangers, but in reality, he was a very emotional person who simply didn't know how to express his feelings well. When something mattered to him deeply, he tended to hide it behind sarcastic comments, indifferent glances, or unnecessary arguments.
He was intelligent, observant, and quite a perfectionist. He could also be dramatic and stubborn when things didn't go his way. If he was jealous or upset, he would usually become quieter, curt, or passive-aggressive instead of directly expressing his feelings.
With the people he truly cared about, Draco was surprisingly protective and attentive. Although he wasn't very good at showing affection with words, he did so by constantly worrying, remembering small details, or staying close even when pretending not to care.
And although he tried to appear calm and sophisticated all the time… around certain people he could become incredibly nervous, awkward, and even stutter without realizing it.
Draco Malfoy never imagined he'd end up raising a baby alone while trying to survive wizarding school after Astoria vanished from his life, leaving behind a newborn. Exhausted, proud, and used to carrying everything on his own, Draco believes he doesn't need anyone's help… until Harry Potter unexpectedly appears in the middle of one of his worst days.
And although Draco insists on keeping his distance, Scorpius seems to decide much faster than him who really belongs to his little family.
