The kingdom feared only one name.

Aou.

The Demon King.

A monster wearing a man's face.

Seven feet tall.

Broad shoulders.

Eyes that glowed crimson whenever anger touched him.

Entire armies had disappeared beneath his sword.

Servants trembled when his footsteps echoed through the castle.

Even demons avoided his temper.

Because when Aou lost control...

Something died.

The most dangerous creature in the kingdom had a husband.

Boom.

The Moon God's chosen.

Beautiful enough to make flowers bloom.

Sweet enough to calm frightened children.

And sassy enough to argue with the Demon King himself.

"You're angry again."

Boom sat on the castle fountain, eating fruit.

Aou glared.

Three servants immediately fainted.

Boom continued chewing.

"See? That's exactly what I'm talking about."

Aou's eye twitched.

Years ago, Aou had stolen Boom from the celestial realm.

Not because he wanted power.

Not because he wanted revenge.

Because he loved him.

Terribly.

Possessively.

Dangerously.

The castle itself was a prison.

Not one with chains.

Not one with locked doors.

Boom could walk anywhere inside the castle.

Anywhere in the gardens.

Anywhere near the lakes and orchards.

But beyond the castle walls?

Impossible.

Ancient barriers glowed silver.

Aou's magic.

A cage disguised as protection.

"I want to leave this stupid garden."

Boom crossed his arms.

"You are impossible."

Aou looked away.

"You're safer here."
