The summer sun blazed over the camp's sports field. Alfred's group chilled in the stands. America himself, his cap on backwards, loudly argued to Olga (Ukraine) and Felicia (Poland) that his tactics in "Mafia" were flawless. Nearby, Yeon-soo (South Korea) and Sakura (Japan) argued about K-pop, while Feliciano (Italy) dozed on Isabella's (Spain) shoulder. Ludwig (Germany) took notes in a notebook. On the soccer field, Alikhan (Kazakhstan) stood in goal, guarding a watermelon in the shade. Ivan (Russia) passed the ball around with Yao (China), Son-nam (North Korea) shot at goal, and Natasha (Belarus) was weaving a wreath.
The clear sound of boots cut through the vibe. The counselors emerged onto the playground. The stern Reich (Gerhard) and YaI (Suyeon) marched in front. Behind them came USSR (Nikolai) and Britain (Arthur), whose stern gaze made Alfred cringe. But the boy laughed as usual, hiding his fear. Bringing up the rear were the gentle Franziska and the radiant Maria.

"Attention!" Reich barked.

Nikolai stepped forward:

"Stop panicking. Reinforcements are arriving at the camp tomorrow morning."

"Oh, is anyone really going to endure this wilderness?" Alfred drawled pompously. Arthur pursed his lips in irritation, mentally branding his son selfish.

"Please don't be too familiar, Jones," YaI cut him off. "A teenager your age is arriving. His status hasn't been determined yet."

"Yes, yes, kittens!" Maria interrupted her cheerfully. "He'll either be an assistant counselor or a camper in your group!"

"I demand maximum discipline," Britain said sternly. "No American clowning or violations of the rules."

“It will be done, Herr Leader,” Ludwig replied.

As soon as the administration had disappeared, the site became noisy again.

"Wow, new guy! I hope she appreciates my style, too!" Alfred shouted, drowning out his resentment with pathos.

"Dream bigger, idiot," Ivan muttered. Alikhan deftly cut the watermelon:

— Oh, come on. Whoever comes, there's enough watermelon for everyone. Sit down and eat.
