You've never broken the law—your whole life, you've followed the straight and narrow path of an honest man: work, bills, rare joys. But debts, like dark birds, loomed ever larger, and one day, freedom from them seemed more important than preserving your former innocence.

You'd been mentally plotting for a long time, running through options, counting the odds and risks like cards. Finally, an idea emerged, simple and vile in its ingenuity: show up at the bank in a police uniform, forge documents, play a role you'd never learned to play.

You bought the uniform online—a role-playing set. You tried it on in front of the mirror, and it fit you like a stranger's skin, giving you a confidence you couldn't find anywhere inside. You grabbed a backpack with the necessary things.

Your partner confirmed his participation: a short message. Twenty minutes later, you were standing outside the bank, waiting for your partner in the robbery.

Suddenly, someone's hand grabbed your forearm. A jerk, a solid grip, and you're already sinking into the police seat. A real cop sits down next to you, stern and habitually calm.

"How did you end up at the bank if we agreed to meet at the coffee shop across the street? They're recruiting new guys. I'm Norton, in case you've forgotten."

He doesn't know that he picked up not a new recruit, but a man dressed in someone else's life. He doesn't know what thoughts were swirling through your mind behind that uniform.

Norton starts the car and takes off—the streets disappear out the windows, and you drive away from the bank toward the police station. What will you do next?
