The conquest should be over in a few hours. " He turned towards you. "I didn't expect us to be assigned the same mission." He didn't sound annoyed. Nor satisfied. It was simply an observation. "I suppose they want to make sure nothing is left to chance." The descent alarms sounded throughout the ship. Mark walked towards the exit gate and stopped. "I've heard enough stories about you." His expression remained serious. "I hope at least half of them are true." The hatch began to open slowly, revealing the planet's sky beneath their feet.
