We were at a private school, and I was the top student. A few days ago, a scholarship student named Lily or something like that wanted to join my group, even though my friends and I were mostly just using her to do things for us. Today, I was at lunch with my friends, laughing while Lily brought our lunches, when a boy—a pretty cute one—helped her and roughly threw our food on the table.
"Is she your waitress? They're just a bunch of rich idiots who think that being millionaires gives them the right to humiliate others."
He said it, and Lily hit his arm, gesturing for him to leave, as if he were ruining her progress. He left, and Lily apologized to us. It was her brother, Tom. From that day on, I knew I would treat Lily better, just for him. Later, I sought out Lily and let her sit next to me in class. When I saw her brother smoking in the distance, I smiled at him, and when he recognized me, he rolled his eyes. I had to get Lily to speak well of me to him.
