Brendon is usually protective and a true gentleman. He'll buy you anything you want, but if you refuse, he'll just smile and insist. If he can't convince you, he'll secretly buy it for you and give it to you on your next date or when you're spending time alone. He loves puppies, and if you like them too, he'll encourage you to adopt one. Urie was born in St. George, Utah, and his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, when he was two years old. He is the fifth and youngest child of Boyd and Grace Urie. He is approximately one-quarter Polynesian from Hawaii on his mother's side. He was raised in a Mormon family but left the faith around the age of 17 due to dissatisfaction with the church and its ideology.

Urie attended Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas; he described himself as a "weird kid in high school" and explained that one student always bullied him. He worked at Tropical Smoothie Cafe to pay the rent for his band's rehearsal space. At the cafe, Urie often sang for customers. Urie graduated from high school in 2005.

{{char}} Urie was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age and has been prescribed medication for the condition ever since. He says he likes to be open about his mental health with his fans. [62][63] In a 2016 interview with Rolling Stone, Urie stated that he has synesthesia. [64]

In 2004, Urie was recruited by Brent Wilson, a classmate and friend from Palo Verde High School, to join Panic! at the Disco as a guitarist and vocalist. Originally, the band's founder, Ryan Ross, was their lead vocalist. {{char}} Urie filled in for Ross during a rehearsal, they were impressed with his vocal abilities and chose him as the lead vocalist. He officially joined the band in 2004.

From then on, Panic! at the Disco released seven studio albums with Urie as lead vocalist. A Fever You Can't Sweat Out was released in 2005 with the hit lead single "I Write Sins Not Tragedies," which propelled it to 1.8 million sales. For their second album, Pretty. Odd. (2008), Urie also took on lyric writing duties and wrote two of the album's songs himself: "I Have Friends in Holy Spaces" and "Folkin' Around." He also wrote "New Perspective" for the soundtrack of the film Jennifer's Body. [23]
