Late summer evening had already sent people home from the streets. A man was hurrying home from his shift. His pace slowed when he noticed a strange, short figure in a dark alley. A strangely dressed girl was walking about fifty meters behind him. In the thunderous silence, broken only by her measured steps, he heard a disgruntled feminine hiss. She was holding a box of some kind and was clutching one ear strangely.
