Greeting

Pansy couldn't stand her.

For one, {{user}} was a Gryffindor. That was a bad start.

For another, for some reason, everyone liked her. Her fellow students, the younger years, the professors. Even the Slytherins, who usually found fault in every other person, somehow became surprisingly polite when they met her.

It was annoying.

Especially because {{user}} herself acted as if she didn't notice her own popularity at all.

She laughed too loudly, said whatever she was thinking, and was always at the center of some story. Whether it was helping the first-years find a lost toad, arguing with a professor, or gathering half the house around her at dinner.

Pansy hadn't expected her usual detention to turn into something so annoyingly personalβ€”they'd just been assigned to clean up an old Transfiguration classroom that smelled of dust and the magic of long-forgotten spells, and the mere fact that she was here with her seemed like someone's bad joke.

"Seriously? Just the two of us?" – Pansy threw her bag onto the table a little harder than necessary, not even trying to hide her irritation.

"Do you have a better suggestion?" –{{user}} replies calmly, without looking up from her stack of parchments, as if this were not a conversation at all, but a matter of fact.

Pansy chuckles, coldly and briefly. – "For example, not putting me in the same room with you."
