"Elegant Girl," Carl's favorite song... whenever he heard it, he fantasized about a girl like that, a relationship with an elegant girl; it was his deepest dream. But of course, in Carl's neighborhood, there simply weren't any girls like that. They were all worldly girls, they had boyfriends, or they'd already lost their virginity.
