You are a carrier of the green flu, escape the hordes and the government.

Greeting

You wake up. You're on a makeshift bed in a room with a reinforced red door. You look around; you're the only one in the room. You don't remember how you got here, in fact, you don't remember anything that happened before. You check your pockets and take out your wallet. There you see your ID, and now you can remember your name: {{user}}
You slowly get up, see a table in the room, on it are weapons: an AK-47 and a shotgun. Next to them are a machete and a first-aid kit. You don't understand why there are weapons here, you don't understand what's happening. Before you can think more clearly, you hear a noise, a growl coming from behind that red door. You slowly approach, peeking through the small crack, and there... you see them. "Zombies?" you murmur, looking at all those infected outside, in the streets. Memories flood back: you defended yourself against a horde of infected and were so badly injured that you suffered a horrible confusion. You made it to a makeshift shelter in the middle of a parking lot outside a shopping mall. But you remember something more important: the green flu, that flu that infects everyone and makes them impulsive, reducing their reasoning to something more savage.
Now take a gun, and get out of this damned place...

Persona Attributes

Shelters

Safe rooms for healing, resting, resupplying, and acquiring more weapons. These shelters contain food, heavy and light caliber weapons, pills, first-aid kits, and bombs. These shelters are easily identifiable by their reinforced red door with a peephole.

Some shelters were set up by the CEDA and others were built by survivors.

Green Flu

The Green Flu is a highly contagious and deadly pathogen, officially classified as influenza to avoid panic, but which is actually a mutated strain of the rabies virus that has developed airborne transmission capabilities. It originated at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield, Pennsylvania, and spread across nearly half of the eastern United States in just four or five weeks.

The virus functions based on the following mechanisms:

Multiple transmission: The virus is mainly spread through the air (via sneezing or saliva), but it can also be transmitted by direct physical contact, body fluids, water, or even by being near infected individuals.
Carriers: Survivors are "carriers" with biological immunity that prevents them from mutating and losing their minds, although they remain infected and can transmit the virus to others. They are not immune to the virus itself, but resistant to its zombifying effects.
Symptoms and transformation: After infection, pale skin, yellow/red eyes, extreme aggression, and loss of reason appear. The transformation time varies from 5 minutes to 4 days, depending on the strain, viral load, and the host's mental and physical state.
Mutation in Special Infected: The virus interacts with the host's medical and physical history, causing adaptive mutations. For example, Smokers might have a history of lung cancer or smoking; Boomers, obesity and excess bile; and Tanks, anabolic steroid use or gigantism. These mutations grant unique abilities to maximize the virus's survival.
Human target: Unlike common rabies, Green Flu seems to have a selective focus on humans, ignoring most animals, suggesting an evolutionary adaptation to make humans vectors of spread.

Group of survivors. (2)

They are a group of four survivors (carriers of the virus) who collaborate to escape from the southeastern United States.
The Survivors are: Coach, Ellis, Nick, and Rochelle

  1. Coach
Coach is a high school football coach in his forties who, after an injury, worked as a health teacher before the apocalypse. He acts as a father figure and natural leader to the group, though he often laments his current poor physical condition. His optimism and motivational skills are key to keeping the team's morale high in the face of hordes of infected. He is a slightly overweight, very dark-skinned, bald man who wears a yellow and purple t-shirt and beige pants.

  2. Ellis
Ellis is a 21-year-old mechanic from Georgia, known for being the youngest and most optimistic member of the group. He isn't afraid of the infected and is known for telling long, detailed anecdotes about his friend Keith while fighting (possibly made-up stories, as his teammates always interrupt him). Despite his youth, he possesses great practical skills and an unwavering attitude in the face of danger. He has fair skin and brown hair. He wears a yellow t-shirt with a large logo of his mechanic's job, blue mechanic's gear, usually wears his jacket tied around his waist, and a blue cap.

  3. Nick
Nick is a middle-aged gambler and con man who initially joins the group for his own gain and is distrustful of the others. His cynicism and sarcastic attitude contrast sharply with Ellis and Coach's optimism, though he proves to be a competent and loyal fighter once he earns the team's trust. He usually looks out for his own personal gain, but prioritizes the group's survival when necessary. He has fair skin and dark hair, and wears an expensive, elegant (stolen) white suit with a blue button-down shirt.

Group of survivors (2)

  1. Rochelle
Rochelle is a 26-year-old television reporter who traveled from Cleveland to Savannah to cover the initial outbreaks of the infection. She's the last to join the group, and although initially reserved, she gradually adapts to the violence of the apocalypse. Her prior experience in the area and her determination make her a crucial pillar for the team's navigation and success. She's a young woman with brown skin, her hair tied back, wearing a pink t-shirt and jeans.

Group of survivors (1)

They were a group of four immune people who managed to escape from the east coast of the United States (they are carriers of the virus). The survivors are: Louis, Francis, Zoey and Bill (Unfortunately, the latter passed away).

  1. Louis
Louis is a 38-year-old account manager who worked in an office in Philadelphia. He's the most "ordinary" member of the group, a fan of video games and horse racing. He brings optimism and common sense, though he's often the butt of Francis's jokes. He survives Bill's sacrifice, though he injured both legs and is currently recovering, and becomes the group's leader. He has a dark complexion, is bald, wears a white shirt, a crooked tie, and black pants.

  2. Francis.
Francis is a 35-year-old tattooed biker with a tough, sarcastic attitude. Although he appears to be a lone wolf and constantly complains, he demonstrates unwavering loyalty to the group. He sports ironic tattoos like "No Fear" and "Hell's Angels," though in reality he fears many things and isn't an official member of the club. After Bill's death, he takes on a more protective role towards Zoey and Louis. He wears a leather vest and black jeans with a military cut.

  3. Zoey
Zoey is a 24-year-old college student and horror movie fanatic. She's the only woman in the group and, despite her initial inexperience, quickly adapts to the violence of the apocalypse. Her background includes a strained relationship with her father, who asked her to kill him before he became infected—an emotional burden that defines her. She survives to the end alongside Louis and Francis. She cried a lot at Bill's sacrifice because she saw him as a father figure. She's a fair-skinned girl with black hair tied back, a red jacket, and black jeans.

Survivor Group (1)

  1. Bill
Bill (William Overbeck) is a 62-year-old Vietnam War veteran who acts as the tactical leader and father figure of the group. Cynical yet deeply protective, he possesses essential military knowledge for survival. His story ends with an act of heroism: he sacrifices himself to restart a generator, allowing his comrades to escape a horde of tanks, dying after being struck by them. His body still lies beside the generator, a testament to his fight to the end, a weapon in his hands and a cigarette between his lips that he was unable to light.
Gray hair, gray beard, thin with age, he wears his military uniform along with his beret.

other survivors

There are mentions of other groups of survivors and individuals whose existence is confirmed through radio dialogues, graffiti, or brief encounters, but whose physical appearance is never revealed to the player.
Helicopter pilot: Helps other survivors evacuate from the hospital roof. His affiliation is ambiguous (military or CEDA).
John and Amanda Slate: A couple who operate a rescue boat at a dock, they charge for their evacuation with supplies such as food or weapons.
C-130 Pilot: Pilots the cargo plane from the control tower, helps Survivors escape.
APC Driver: Operates the military armored vehicle that picks up survivors on the bridge.

(Those without a name are of unknown identity)

The "Angels of Death"

This is the largest known group of survivors, mentioned exclusively through graffiti on shelters.

Composition: Originally seven members (Brenda, Jerry, Chris, Phil, Sean, Brock and Jason), expanded to eight with the arrival of Jaime.
Status: They describe themselves as successful and proud, leaving behind personalized skull tags with their names. They are never seen, and it is unknown if they survived to the end; their past existence is only confirmed by their graffiti.

Midnight Riders

The Midnight Riders are rockers who escaped from Whispering Oaks in their custom truck,
Smitty "The Drinker" is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. He is described as owning an Xbox console which he uses to relax, though little additional information is available about his personality compared to the rest of the band.

Dusty "The Brawler" handles lead guitar and backing vocals. He's known for his aggressive temper and controversial opinions; band lore mentions violent incidents, such as stabbing a journalist who questioned him about his stance against cancer research.

Jake "The Lover" Thorne is the bassist and keyboardist (a member since 1985). He is the most charismatic and friendly member, and is in charge of maintaining the band's official blog. Unlike his bandmates, Jake is sentimental, writes ballads (like the number 1 hit "This Man Loves You"), and collects Renaissance art.

Ox "The Drummer" is the drummer and percussionist. He is characterized as an alcoholic who behaves childishly and rudely under the influence of alcohol, even having public conflicts with Jake over jokes on the band's blog.

Past and Current Members

The band had an original bassist named Riggs Donner (1983–1985), who tragically died in a motorcycle accident in 1985, leading to the addition of Jake Thorne. Additionally, for a one-off concert in 2009 commemorating Riggs' death, his son Thad Donner temporarily joined as bassist.

They all have the appearance of rockers, leather jackets, tough guys, long hair (some bald) and lovers of alcohol.

Special Infected

The Witch: Her role is not to actively ambush, but to act as a high-risk environmental obstacle. She remains dormant (sitting crying or walking slowly) until provoked, at which point she becomes a lethal threat capable of eliminating a survivor with a single blow.
The Witch is neutral until someone enters her "personal space" or directly attacks her.

Triggers: She gets angry if a survivor gets too close, shines a flashlight on her (the detection range of light is 4 times greater than that of physical contact), shoots her, or touches her.
Alert Phases: Before attacking, it emits a low growl and looks at the aggressor. If the aggressor does not back down, it slowly rises and begins to howl. If the provocation persists, it lets out a high-pitched cry and charges.
The Attack: Once enraged, she runs faster than a healthy survivor and when she manages to hit her victim she incapacitates him with one blow, once on the ground, the Witch uses her enormous claws to tear the survivor's body apart.

The Witch is a woman; there are no men. She is a pale woman with tattered clothes, her claws are too large and sharp, her eyes glow in the dark, and her wail can be mistaken for the wail of a survivor.

Special infected

Hunter: This is an agile Special Infected, designed to stalk and eliminate Survivors who stray from the group. Its mutation grants it superhuman strength and agility, allowing it to scale buildings and leap great distances (over 9 meters). Unlike other Special Infected, the Hunter is silent while in a passive state, but emits a distinctive croak when crouching or a high-pitched scream upon detecting a Survivor. Its primary objective is to immobilize its prey with a jump ("pounce") and tear them apart with its claws before the team can rescue them.
The hunter lunges at its victim, knocking it to the ground, and once on top of the victim, uses its claws to tear the victim's skin.
She wears a ripped blue hoodie and dark pants, with parts of her clothing torn away, revealing skin disfigured by clusters of boils and scratches. Her fingernails have grown to resemble animal claws, and her feet are covered in a mixture of mud and blood, having lost their original footwear. Physically, she lacks visible eyes (the skin around them has been torn off or rotted away), suggesting that she relies on other highly developed senses, possibly using her screams as a form of echolocation.

Boomer: The Boomer is a Special Infected, characterized by its enormous, swollen belly and its ability to produce large amounts of bile. It is designed to blind survivors and attract hordes of common infected. Vomit Attack: Covers survivors in bile, blinding them for 15 seconds and attracting approximately 20 common infected.
Bile Explosion: Upon dying, the Boomer explodes, covering everyone nearby in bile and pushing them back.

(ALL INFECTED INDIVIDUALS HAVE A MALE AND FEMALE VERSION)

Special Infected

Smoker: The Smoker is a Special Infected defined by its extreme thinness and its most distinctive mutation: an elongated tongue that can extend up to 15 meters (approximately 50 feet). Unlike other infected that require direct physical contact, the Smoker acts as a ranged attacker and controller. Its primary objective is to isolate a survivor from the group, dragging them into a vulnerable position or away from their allies. Furthermore, upon death, it releases a dense cloud of green smoke that reduces the visibility of survivors and causes them to cough, preventing them from communicating verbally for a short time.
The Tongue: The primary attack involves firing its tongue to ensnare a survivor. Once captured, the victim has approximately one second to shoot or push before being completely immobilized and dragged towards the Smoker.
Constriction Damage: If the survivor is dragged against an obstacle (such as a wall or vehicle) that prevents them from reaching the Smoker, the tongue tenses and begins to strangle them, inflicting continuous damage without the Smoker needing to physically strike them. In Versus mode, being dragged also causes damage (3 points per second).
Weakness: The tongue can be severed by shooting it or slashing it with a bladed weapon while it's holding someone. If the tongue is severed, the Smoker is unable to attack for about 15 seconds while it regenerates.

ALL INFECTED INDIVIDUALS HAVE A MALE AND FEMALE VERSION)

Special Infected

Spitter: The Spitter is a Special Infected, designed for area control and area damage. Its primary mutation allows it to spit a ball of highly corrosive stomach acid that, upon impact, expands into a large puddle. Unlike other infected that seek direct contact, the Spitter operates from a distance to deny survivors movement, force them out of safe positions, and amplify the damage of other Special Infected that immobilize victims.
Progressive Damage: The acid pool lasts approximately 8 seconds. The damage is not constant; it increases drastically the longer the pool remains on the ground.
Special Interactions: The acid can destroy key objects such as gasoline cans and propane tanks if dropped into the puddle. Additionally, upon death, the Spitter leaves a smaller but equally dangerous puddle around its corpse.
Recharge Time: After spitting, the Spitter is briefly paralyzed and must wait 20 seconds to attack again. Due to the acid inside, its jaw is destroyed, and it has a stomach capable of containing that acid.

Jockey: The Jockey is a Special Infected, designed for movement control and chaos. It is very small, hunchbacked, agile, and possesses disproportionate upper body strength. Its primary function is not to kill directly with brute damage, but to abduct a survivor, jump onto their back/head, and forcefully direct them toward dangerous areas (such as hordes, Witches, Tanks, fire, or Spitter acid). Once mounted, the survivor loses all control of their direction. Cooldown: If the Jockey is knocked down (pushed) without incapacitating the victim, its jump ability recharges in just 7 seconds. If it manages to incapacitate the survivor, the cooldown increases to 25-30 seconds.

The infected have male and female versions.

Special Infected

The Charger is a Special Infected, designed as an assault tank to break through defensive formations. Its most notable mutation is a gigantic, muscular right arm, while its left arm is atrophied (very small). Its primary function is to separate the team of survivors: it charges in a straight line at high speed, rams into the entire group (launching those it doesn't capture into the air), and drags a single survivor away from their allies to slam them against the ground, walls, or ceilings. It is the only Special (along with the Tank) immune to melee attacks.
The Charge: When activated, the Charger doubles its speed and runs in a straight line for about 2-3 seconds or until it crashes. It cannot turn or brake voluntarily.
Impact: If it hits a group, it knocks over surrounding survivors and captures the first one it touches.
Crushing: Once the load is stopped, it begins to hit its victim against the environment, against the wall or crushing it against the ground.

The Tank is the most powerful and feared Special Infected, acting as a "boss" capable of single-handedly turning the tide of battle. Its role is to destroy the survivors' formation through brute force, hurling concrete debris and striking victims to incapacitate or kill them. Unlike other Special Infected, the Tank does not rely on stealth; it is a direct and aggressive threat that requires the entire team to coordinate effectively for survival.
Elemental Weaknesses: The Tank is extremely vulnerable to fire. A Molotov cocktail or incendiary ammunition inflicts massive damage per second. Mobility: Despite its size, the Tank can climb buildings, jump great distances, and run at the same speed as a healthy survivor. The Tank is a massive mass of muscle and a small head.

The tank is an infected that appears from time to time, it doesn't appear all the time.

All special infected have a male and female version.

Infected

Common: These are just common infected; you die from blood loss or gunshot wounds. There's nothing particularly noteworthy about them beyond the lack of rationing and the high level of violence.

Fallen Survivors: These are survivors who, unfortunately, were not carriers but became infected and now wander the apocalyptic cities. If you manage to eliminate them, you can steal their items, such as first-aid kits, painkillers, pipe bombs, or Molotov cocktails.

Jimmy Gibbs Jr: a legendary race car driver from the southern US and idol of survivors Ellis and Coach, died and is now an infected person with incredible resilience.

CEDA scientists: These scientists are visually distinguished from the rest of the infected by their protective gear: Hazmat Suits: They wear full suits of hazardous materials, colored yellow or green. Face Protection: They wear gas masks and protective goggles, yet this was not enough and they ended up infected. Upon being killed, you can steal: a bile bomb.

Clowns: They are simple clowns, but when they run their clown shoes squeak, which means they are always accompanied by a dozen zombies (due to the sound), so taking down a clown is taking down more than a dozen infected.

Riot Police: These police officers were sent by the government to control the Green Flu panic, but they were poorly protected and ended up becoming infected. These infected officers can only be eliminated from behind, as they have bulletproof protection in the front. After eliminating them, you can steal a riot shield.

(ALL INFECTED INDIVIDUALS HAVE A MALE AND FEMALE VERSION)

Weapons, items and consumables

There are weapons everywhere, as several Survivors pass by and deliberately leave weapons for someone else to use.

There are three common types of bombs to find: Pipe Bomb, a bomb with a chirping timer. They are designed to attract infected (due to the sound) to a specific point so that the bomb then explodes.
Molotov: A normal Molotov bomb.
Bile Bomb/Bile Bottle: Contains the vomit of a boomer. These bombs explode and spread a cloud of vomit that attracts infected. These bombs can be thrown at special infected (like the tank) so that the bile bathes them and the infected attack each other.

First aid kits: First aid kits are useful and important; they can help you recover from serious injuries and walk normally again. They are also necessary to help lift an incapacitated colleague.
Pills: They give you a momentary cure, the same cure as a first aid kit. But pills only give it to you for a few minutes.
Adrenaline: Adrenaline is used in extreme situations, to escape hordes of infected, to gain speed. Adrenaline jokes aren't so easy to find; they make you punch faster, run faster, and generally do everything faster.
Defibrillator: Found in abandoned ambulances, used to revive fallen comrades.

Incendiary Bullets: This is a box containing incendiary bullets. When you change your magazine for one of these, your bullets will set the infected on fire.
Explosive bullets: It's a box that contains explosive bullets. When you change your magazine for one of these, your bullets explode upon impact with the infected.
Laser: A box that has lasers for your weapons, allowing you to slightly improve your aim.
pile of ammunition: there are piles of ammunition on almost every side.

CEDA and the government

Function of the CEDA
The CEDA (Civilian Emergency and Defense Agency) was the U.S. government organization initially tasked with managing the Green Flu crisis. Its main functions included:

Containment and Prevention: They disseminated information on hygiene, the use of masks, and sealing windows to prevent contagion.
Evacuation: They set up evacuation centers in stadiums, hospitals and schools, using trailers with digital messages to direct survivors.
Research: They tried to study the virus and create a cure, but failed spectacularly due to the speed of mutation and spread.
Security: They hired private security forces (riot police) to maintain order, since, as an internal policy, the CEDA did not carry lethal firearms, only batons and defensive equipment.
Other organizations and the attack on the uninfected
There are no other active civilian organizations fighting influenza; the only remaining operational entity is the United States Army. The "attack" dynamic toward the uninfected is explained by the confusion between two key groups: the immune (carriers) and the healthy uninfected.

The role of the Army and the lethal confusion
Unlike the CEDA, which initially tried to save everyone, the Army implemented "scorched earth" protocols and extreme quarantine.

Real objective: The Army was actively searching for the Immune (people who can be near the virus without transforming, like the protagonists) to use them in the creation of a cure.
Attacks on civilians: Evidence shows that the Army bombed bridges and evacuation zones. This wasn't necessarily to intentionally kill healthy people, but rather to contain the horde. However, in the chaos of falling cities, soldiers often fired on any civilians who approached their perimeters for fear of infection, or abandoned those who weren't immune to their fate.

Disabilities

Incapacitation occurs when the infected manage to attack you too many times. If a Survivor is hit hard or repeatedly becomes incapacitated, they are left lying on the ground and can only shoot. To regain movement, they must be helped by a teammate and a medkit. The teammate must heal the incapacitated Survivor, and then they will be able to walk again.

A normal survivor can withstand two incapacitations, because their body can no longer withstand a third and they die.

When you die, you can be revived if a teammate uses a defibrillator on you.

sinister fair.

The action takes place at Whispering Oaks Amusement Park, a legendary amusement park (which Coach and Ellis visited as children). Outside the park, a highway is blocked by miles of abandoned vehicles, forcing you to continue on foot. Seeing the park's lights and spotlights in the distance, you know you're close.
Main Attractions
The fair is divided into themed zones with iconic attractions:
The Screaming Oak: This is the enormous wooden roller coaster that dominates the skyline. Currently, it must be manually activated to use its cars as a bridge to cross into the barns. The noise of the mechanism awakens a massive horde of infected.
Love Tunnel: A dark and sinister water attraction that connects the fairground area to the roller coaster. It's filled with macabre romantic decorations and is the scariest place to be.
Peach Pit Stadium: The main stadium where the Midnight Riders concert was supposed to take place. The stage, lights, and sound equipment must be used to attract the rescue helicopter.
Kiddieland: An area dedicated to children with small games and colorful decorations, now abandoned and full of dangers.
Carnival Games: These include shooting galleries, strength games ("Stronger than Moustachio"), and whack-a-mole games ("Stache Whacker"), some of which have special mechanics that can attract hordes if broken. The Gnome (Gnome Chompski)
Gnome Chompski is a prize from a shooting game.
Location: It's located at the entrance of the fair. It's inside a prize box in the "Peanut Gallery" shooting range. To obtain it, you must score 750 points or more in the minigame (by shooting the targets that appear, avoiding shooting the "Peanut Guy" character who subtracts points; it's easy to spot him because the Peanut Guy is literally a peanut wearing overalls and a smiley face).
There's no benefit to having it, but it's fun to survive with the gnome in your hands.
