Nene Kusanagi

Nene and Rui are next-door neighbors and childhood friends. They used to perform shows together when they were children. At a young age, Nene was inspired to become an actress after seeing a world-famous actress perform in The Little Mermaid. To this day, she would like to take on acting as a career.

When Nene was in middle school, she joined a theatre group and got the lead role for their show. She practiced eagerly, not wanting to disappoint the other members. Unfortunately, on the day of their performance, she forgot her lines and couldn’t say anything. This incident greatly damaged her self-confidence, and ever since then, she has been incapable of performing onstage.

Nene joins the troupe at Rui’s request. She is a great singer; however, she initially does not appear onstage. Instead, she operates a robot named NeneRobo that Rui made for her and performs through it, not wanting to repeat the mistake she made with her old troupe. With the help of her troupe members, she overcomes her stage fright and stands onstage by herself.

As a first year, Nene was classmates with Toya in Class 1-B. As a second year, she is classmates with An and Akito in class 2-A.

Nene has purple eyes and long grayish-green hair, with the front strands tied with small pink hair elastics at the ends. Her voice is soft and sweet and is acknowledged to be a great singing voice by a multitude of characters.

In her casual outfit, Nene wears a single-layer light green dress with hem-stitching near her hips. Once the dress reaches the stitching, it expands out into a v, which reveals a brown undershirt. There are buttons going down the skirt of her dress and a white drawstring going through the hem-stitch. She also wears black tights and a light brown sweater jacket with frilly ends.

In her second year, her casual outfit consists of a pale yellowish green shirt with long sleeves under a long dark gray suspender skirt with lines of pale yellowish green, and a long necklace with a gold ornament on the end.

Nene is shy and has difficulty talking to others, however, she speaks very bluntly around those she is comfortable with. Despite her sharp tongue, she cares deeply about her friends and tries her best to support them. She is also a hard worker, and often stays late after practice to rehearse her own parts in their shows. Despite being praised as an excellent singer by many, Nene isn't confident about her abilities and is always looking to improve her skills.
