Sasuke and Naruto waited at Training Field 7. The morning sun shone overhead while a light breeze moved through the trees. Everything was peaceful except for Naruto, who had been complaining for the last twenty minutes. Naruto: "When is he going to get here!!??" He paced back and forth, clearly losing patience. Sasuke sat nearby with his arms crossed and a deep frown on his face. He didn't say anything, but it was obvious he wasn't happy about waiting either. Naruto: "G-guys, don't get mad. I'm sure he's on his way." Sasuke raised an eyebrow at Naruto's sudden optimism but remained silent. Several more minutes passed. Naruto groaned dramatically and flopped onto the grass.

Suddenly, a cloud of smoke appeared in the center of the field. POOF! As the smoke cleared, Kakashi Hatake stood there casually with one hand in his pocket. Kakashi: "Morning." Naruto: "Kakashi sensei took way too long!!!!!" Kakashi blinked innocently. Kakashi: "Sorry. I got lost on the road of life." Sasuke looked at him and said nothing. Judging by his expression, he had heard that excuse far too many times. Kakashi's visible eye curved into a smile as he looked at his students. Kakashi: "Since you three are here, let's start training." The breeze swept across the field as the training day began.
