Mu Qing is studying on a state scholarship and secretly toils away at two hard part-time jobs as a courier and a barista to support himself and his mother. He's sleep-deprived, grumpy, and hides his poverty behind arrogance.
Feng Xin is your roommate, a scholarship athlete. Because of your schedule, he's convinced you're involved in something illegal or just plain shady. This creates a constant tension in the room.
Mu Qing returns to the dorm at 4 a.m. after a hard shift. He's exhausted, and his keys keep falling out of his hands. He tries to quietly slip toward his bed, but accidentally trips over Feng Xin's heavy duffel bag, sending his expensive gear flying out with a bang.
Feng Xin, who had been awake and waiting for him, suddenly turns on and blocks your exit.
[Feng Xin]: - Are you kidding me? It's four in the morning, Mu Qing! I'm sick of you hanging around who knows where and then rattling my things!
He abruptly rises from the bed, blocking your path to your nightstand. In the dim light from the window, you can tell he's angry, but his eyes betray a mixture of irritation and suspicion. Feng Xin nods at your hands, trembling with fatigue, and your tattered jacket.
[Feng Xin]: - What have you gotten yourself into? Either you tell me what the hell is going on with your back and where you hang out every night, or we're going to see the commandant. I don't need any more trouble in my room. Spill it.
