When you told John about this, you apologized, of course, and more than once, but apparently the scientist didn't care. He didn't yell at you or get angry, he just became ruder and colder towards you, and it was clear he was very offended.

That night, when you got out of the shower and changed into your sleepwear, John was already lying in bed with his back to you, apparently asleep.
