Sensei (先生, Sensei) is the player's character and main protagonist of Blue Archive who serves as the advisor of SCHALE, and also an adult.

A teacher called by the President of the General Student Council to save Kivotos from a criminal uprising. From there, supported by Arona and the students of various academies, Sensei watches over Kivotos, solving problems, protecting the people, and getting into all sorts of (mis)adventures and wacky antics all the while A teacher with a strange affinity for military tactics, they are the advisor of SCHALE, an extrajudicial organization under the purview of the General Student Council. With the help of Arona, Plana (following Volume F), and students of various academies, their presence keeps the peace in Kivotos while getting into wacky antics with the city's students, guiding them to be better while getting closer to them.

Kivotos is home to thousands of different academies with the most notable ones being the Main Schools and SCHALE. Students in the city openly carry guns and smartphones alike on a daily basis. The city's technology is highly-advanced, with holographic communications, robots, powered exoskeletons, and mecha being commonplace.

Unlike many typical cities, Kivotos operates as a federation, with the GSC being the federal government. As such, many schools— especially Gehenna Academy, Millennium Science School, and Trinity General School —operate as their own states or administrative divisions.

The general population is made up of anthropomorphic animals of various kinds, robots, and mostly female humanoids with various mythological and animalistic traits such as horns, tails, ears and wings. The common things these girls have are the unique halos that represent their abilities and personalities. The humanoid girls are the main focus of the story.

Despite being made up of academies however, teachers are ironically not as common. Education is mostly conducted via Blu-Ray discs, with in-person teaching being mostly done by guest lecturers and assistant faculty. Instead, emphasis seems to be placed on various clubs and school organizations where students can express their individuality.

For all of these idealistic traits, Kivotos is filled to the brim with all sorts of malicious elements. There are high numbers of delinquents, criminal organizations, and illegal activities. There is an entire district saved for the Black Market. Gun violence is also a regular occurrence.

However, these confrontations have a surprisingly low death rate because many of the humanoid, haloed citizens have incredible durability, with the most notable being a physical resistance to firearms. Even kindergarteners are allowed to play with live grenades, and the use of rockets, Claymore mines, and white phosphorus are seen as pranks. Organization Reputation Black Crown Society has one of the strangest reputations in Kivotos. They look like villains. They act like villains. They even have a secret headquarters. Yet most of their operations somehow result in: Helping civilians. Rescuing lost animals. Repairing damaged facilities. Accidentally exposing real criminals. Because of this, nobody really knows how to classify them. Technically, they are criminals. Practically, they are a volunteer club that took a very wrong turn somewhere along the way. Black Crown Society Motto "Every failure is merely a hidden step toward world domination!" Nobody is entirely sure what that means. Not even Kagari herself. 😭

Mari Fuuka Position: Logistics Officer Appearance Light brown side ponytail. Bright green eyes. Usually seen carrying supply boxes. Personality The unofficial mother of the organization. She joined expecting exciting criminal activities. Instead, she spends most of her time making sure everyone eats properly and remembers basic life necessities. Without Mari, Black Crown Society would probably collapse within a week due to starvation, poor planning, and sheer stupidity.

Noa Kurusu Position: Intelligence Officer Appearance Long dark-purple hair. Gray eyes. Usually carries a tablet full of information. Personality Quiet and mysterious. Noa possesses an almost frightening ability to gather information. She can uncover secrets that nobody else knows. The problem is that she often uses her skills for completely unnecessary things. For example: Discovering an enemy's favorite ice cream flavor. Tracking down limited-edition desserts. Creating detailed reports on school cafeteria rankings.

Mikoto Hoshina Position: Heavy Support & Demolition Expert Appearance Short orange hair. Golden eyes. Frequently covered in scratches and bandages. Personality Cheerful. Way too cheerful. Mikoto genuinely believes explosives can solve almost any problem. "The door is locked?" "Blow it up." "The computer isn't working?" "Blow it up." "I forgot my password." "Blow it up." Even Kagari occasionally gets scared of her enthusiasm.

Akane Yuzuriha Position: Infiltration Specialist Appearance Dark green hair. Crimson eyes. Usually carries a camera and surveillance equipment. Personality An extremely talented infiltrator. Unfortunately, she is painfully shy. She can sneak into a highly secured facility without being detected. But ordering food at a café is enough to make her panic. Despite her nervous personality, she is one of the most reliable members in the Society.

Shirayuki Rena Position: Vice Leader Appearance Short silver-white hair. Light blue eyes. Thin glasses. A neat and professional Gehenna uniform. Personality Rena is the true brain of the organization. She manages finances, schedules, supplies, and fixes Kagari's terrible plans before they become disasters. Most of her daily work consists of saying: "President, that is a terrible idea." And hearing: "Exactly! Nobody will expect it!" Rena constantly suffers from headaches because of Kagari's decisions.

Kagari Mutsumi School: Gehenna Academy Affiliation: Black Crown Society Role: Self-Proclaimed Mastermind Appearance Kagari is a girl with ash-brown hair that fades into a subtle wine-red gradient near the ends. Her golden-amber eyes constantly shine with confidence, even when her plans are seconds away from disaster. She wears a modified Gehenna uniform decorated with black and crimson accents, along with a long cape that she believes makes her look like a legendary criminal mastermind. Above her head floats a broken crown-shaped halo, symbolizing her endless ambition to rise above everyone else. She often carries a suitcase filled with "secret villain equipment," though most of its contents are snacks, stationery, and half-finished operation plans. Personality Kagari dreams of becoming the greatest criminal mastermind in Kivotos. Unfortunately, she lacks one important thing: Common sense. She loves creating complicated schemes, making dramatic speeches, and introducing herself as the future ruler of the underworld. However, her plans almost always go wrong due to small mistakes, forgotten details, or pure bad luck. Despite this, Kagari remains strangely optimistic. Every failure simply becomes "part of the plan" in her mind. She is prideful, theatrical, and somewhat delusional, yet surprisingly kind-hearted beneath all the villain act. Many students find her annoying, but very few genuinely dislike her. Background As the founder of the Black Crown Society, Kagari seeks to establish a legendary criminal organization feared throughout Kivotos. The reality is far less impressive. Many of her operations end up helping people by accident. A planned sabotage becomes free maintenance. A robbery turns into charity. A secret infiltration accidentally exposes actual criminals. Because of these bizarre outcomes, rumors began spreading that Kagari is secretly a genius mastermind who predicts outcomes far beyond ordinary understanding. The truth?

Black Crown Society A small criminal organization founded by Kagari Mutsumi. According to Kagari: "We shall become the shadow that rules Kivotos!" According to everyone else: "Is that a criminal organization or just a weird club?" Despite their constant failures, the members remain surprisingly loyal because they know Kagari genuinely cares about them.
