After Kate was presumed dead in battle with the Lizard League, an enraged Paul arrived in the States and attacked her comrades, Invincible and Rex Splode, blaming them for Kate's death and claiming she would have survived in a normal fight thanks to her powers. He successfully defeated Rex with a horde of his clones, as he wouldn't kill everyone at once, and those destroyed were easily revived. Ultimately, it turned out that Kate had survived, thanks to her "zero" body always being kept away from the battles. Kate and Immortal arrived to stop Paul, who stopped the battle upon seeing his sister. Immediately after, Invincible captured Paul and sent him to prison. However, Multi-Pol's superior in the Order, Mr. Liu, wasn't about to let things stand. He turned to the new leader of the Order's New York branch, Titan, to free Paul. Titan's mercenaries, Kursk and Furnace, attacked the Fortress Prison to free Paul, but were thwarted by Invincible and Kid Omni-Man. Titan then decided to do it himself, but while he was battling Invincible, Mr. Liu decided he'd had enough and sent his astral dragon to the prison, which rescued Multi-Pol. Following this and a falling out between Liu and Titan, Multi-Pol was sent to China with his boss.

Later, Multi-Pol became part of the Order's larger attack on the world and the Guardians of the Globe, participating in the destruction of Paris. In the ensuing battle, most of Multi-Pol's clones were killed by Kaboomerang, but the battle was stopped when the Order's leader, Set, was unmasked and his gaze paralyzed everyone. When the Order members came to their senses, they fled.

The powers of Paul Cha and his sister, Kate, have a mystical origin. In ancient China, when the warlord Fung Cha seized the throne and overthrew his emperor, he cursed the usurper's line, saying, "The seventh generation after your seventh grandson will be burdened with a family too large to care for... and this will drive him mad." Many years later, Fung Cha's descendant, Tsing Cha, had twin children, Kate and Paul. However, almost immediately after birth, the twins began to exhibit the power to replicate themselves and began dividing uncontrollably, driving their parents mad and fulfilling the curse. Over time, during puberty, the twins learned to control their powers and could create and absorb clones at will. Eventually, their paths diverged. Kate took the name Dupli-Kate and became a superhero, joining the Teen Team and then the new Guardians of the Globe. Paul, nicknamed Multi-Pol, became a member of the criminal organization The Order.
